Well, there's a difference in the medical schools between the continents. Won't get into how and who's better or what...not relevant.
But with the cortisone injection, there is a risk of deterioration of bone and progressive cartilage damage in the affected joint. Bone, ligaments, and tendons can weaken with too frequent steroid treatments applied. It shouldn't be applyed more than 3 times/year....max!
Whenever there’s a better way of treating the cause, instead of the symptoms, I’ll vote for that.
From all kinds of advices you receive, try one from Mexico too, you never know I’m assuming you don't have a medical insurance, so it's pretty much self treatment you're looking for. Here it comes:
1. Rest - and I mean bed rest for one day or two, with a pillow or a roll under your knees if on your back, or in between your knees if on one side…if sleeping on your belly, have a pillow under your abdomen. Sleeping without the pillow support is only further tensing your back muscles and increasing the pain.
2. Anti - inflam pills - diclofenac, ibuprofen ....whatever is available ( take double doze for the first two times to cut the edge then go with the right dosage for the next 3 to 5 days)
3. Muscle relaxant (if nothing over the counter, any sleeping pill would do) , the idea is to completely relax the back muscles and get them out of spasm. Careful, they are sedatives, so plan on having the day/days off when doing this (you’ll sleep most of the times anyways)
I'm not a big fan of the cortizon therapy here, so won't suggest you to try it.
Ok, once you've done that...religiously do your stretching exercises before getting off bed, don't bend from the lower back and don't lift anything heavy without a safety belt.
Exercise to get your lower back and abdominal muscles strong enough to support the kind of effort you're doing daily ( of course you never had ay problems with it before....this is the moment the body's giving up, so do take it seriously)
Now, if the symptoms persist, do seek further help.
It looks more like a strained muscles to me , not a herniated disk, however is still serious and the consequences can be serious on long run...not something you would like to play with.
In all the honesty I doubt the "reasonable reasons" people won't post a picture...but they are more than willing to email it to a complete stranger... now how's that for protecting the privacy?
If we're on a dating site, then one would assume pictures will be eventually needed.... I understand the work ethic ...but posting a pic won't spoil that, their conduct on the site will...so don't really see a harm there.
I guess for me would still be a question mark about that person.
RE: Back pain advice "I need some"
Hope your knee and back will get better too!
