Usually it is a poor circulation on that specific segment,foot or hand.
You have to have it checked by a doctor , there are treatments that are extremely efficient and will prevent that excruciating pain every time it gets in contact with cold.

It will get better in no time!

I found few days ago very fresh paws marks on the snow in front of my front door, looked like the poor little thing came all the way to the door and even tried to go up with its front legs.

Don't even wanna thing if my front door would have opened from the push....


But back to you...your critters are modern, coffee drinkers Telling you, keep that door open and stay home more often, it might just work!
