Is Italy is Lying About Their Coronavirus Death Numbers?

Perhaps big pharma wants to sell our governments billions in $$$$ for vaccines "for the people".
No, not greed...that couldn't be it.
(follow the money?)

Who's who in the coronavirus battle
CEOs from the following seven biopharmaceutical companies met with President Trump on March 2: Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD), GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA), Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN), and Sanofi (NASDAQ:SNY). Each of these seven companies is working on developing antiviral drugs to treat COVID-19 or vaccines to prevent the disease.
A World Health Organization official stated in February that Gilead's experimental antiviral drug remdesivir appears to be the most promising candidate for treating COVID-19 right now. Gilead is currently evaluating the drug in late-stage studies.
Regeneron is collaborating with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to develop a treatment for COVID-19. The company has worked with HHS in the past on treatments for Ebola and MERS.
Johnson & Johnson is also working with HHS to identify antiviral candidates that could potentially be effective in treating COVID-19. The healthcare giant is scrambling to develop a novel coronavirus vaccine as well.
All of the other drugmakers are working on experimental vaccines for the novel coronavirus. GlaxoSmithKline is partnering with Chinese biotech Clover Biopharmaceuticals on developing a vaccine. Sanofi is seeking to repurpose its experimental SARS vaccine to target the novel coronavirus. Pfizer hasn't fully jumped into the fray yet, but the big pharma company is considering working with its partner BioNTech to develop a COVID-19 vaccine.

Moderna is the smallest of the seven companies. However, it ranks among the leaders in developing a COVID-19 vaccine and plans to begin testing an experimental vaccine in humans this month.

At this point, Gilead and Moderna stand out as the two most likely winners in the race to develop COVID-19 therapies. Gilead is ahead of Regeneron in testing an antiviral treatment for COVID-19. Moderna is advancing to clinical testing of an experimental vaccine more quickly than others.

Is Italy is Lying About Their Coronavirus Death Numbers?

Italy is lying about their coronavirus death numbers. Even if you die of cancer, if you tested positive on coronavirus, the death is listed as death from coronavirus.

Story came from UK's Telegram, In order to read one must be able to read.
NOT reading is as bad as being illiterate, which is why I posted the video, a concession for those who are illiterate.

Is Italy is Lying About Their Coronavirus Death Numbers?

Cancer & old age deaths listed as Coronavirus?

The coronavirus pandemic is exacting a heavy toll on Italy, with hospitals overwhelmed and a nationwide lockdown imposed. But experts are also concerned about a seemingly high death rate, with the number of fatalities outstripping the total reported in China.
Of the 63,927 people confirmed coronavirus patients in Italy, 6,077 so far have died. By contrast China has many more cases, 81,496, but 3,274 fatalities.
In very crude terms, this means that around nine per cent of confirmed coronavirus patients have died in Italy, compared to four per cent in China. By this measure Germany, which has so far identified 28,865 cases and 118 deaths, has a fatality rate of just 0.4 per cent.
So why the disparity?
According to Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health, the country’s mortality rate is far higher due to demographics - the nation has the second oldest population worldwide - and the manner in which hospitals record deaths.

“The age of our patients in hospitals is substantially older - the median is 67, while in China it was 46,” Prof Ricciardi says. “So essentially the age distribution of our patients is squeezed to an older age and this is substantial in increasing the lethality.”

A study in JAMA this week found that almost 40 per cent of infections and 87 per cent of deaths in the country have been in patients over 70 years old.

And according to modelling by Imperial College, London the majority of this age group are likely to need critical hospital care - including 80 per cent of 80-somethings - putting immense pressure on the health system.
But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities.
“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus.

“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three,” he says.

This does not mean that Covid-19 did not contribute to a patient's death, rather it demonstrates that Italy's fatality toll has surged as a large proportion of patients have underlying health conditions.

But there are other factors that may have contributed to Italy’s fatality rates, experts say. This includes a high rate of smoking and pollution - the majority of deaths have been in the northern region Lombardy region, which is notorious for poor air quality.

And there’s also no question that parts of Italy’s health system have been overwhelmed with a surge of coronavirus patients and are struggling to cope.

"There are three factors involved in Italy: one is that it is a much older population, two the health system was overwhelmed, and three there has been a significant loss of health workers because of a high coronavirus infection rate among them,” says Prof McKee.
"Italy is ahead of us in the epidemic - and it’s not clear how many health workers [in the UK] are having to self isolate. That’s another big concern.
"Based on Italy’s experience, there is a real concern for the UK,” adds Prof McKee. “Compared to almost every other European country we have a relative shortage of ventilators and medical staff.”

United Nations Military Games in Wuhon prior to the COVID-19 outbreak

I'm trying to find where I read it... but some believe the virus was introduced in the US in late 2019.
I had the flu around Xmas (even wrote about it here) however on Xmas eve it miraculously 'disappeared'.
I NEVER get sick. (famous last words) Looking back I had all the symptoms.
Never-the-less if it was indeed the Covid-19 unlike other coronaviruses (which your body builds up its immune system against) it has a double punch and can hit again, with the 2nd illness worse than the first.

Thanks Rob. I must've missed it.

As a consequence, the pillars of China’s economy—consumer spending and real estate, as well as exports and direct foreign investment—are shaking, even crumbling, before Beijing’s eyes. The highly profitable pharmaceutical and medical supply industries, for example, will be repatriated to the United States as soon as possible.

Question: If the Covid-19 virus is soooooo bad that we are basically on a country wide lockdown....

Good points.

I came across this as other states don't want New Yorkers coming in and spreading the illness. Localized?

Rhode Island police began stopping cars with New York plates Friday. On Saturday, the National Guard will help them conduct house-to-house searches to find people who traveled from New York and demand 14 days of self-quarantine.

“Right now we have a pinpointed risk,” Governor Gina Raimondo said. “That risk is called New York City.”

New York is the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., on Friday reporting a total of 44,000 cases.

Rhode Island has just over 200, and it has begun an aggressive campaign to keep the virus out and New Yorkers contained, over objections from civil liberties advocates.

Raimondo, a Democrat, said she had consulted lawyers and said while she couldn’t close the border, she felt confident she could enforce a quarantine.

Many New Yorkers have summer houses in Rhode Island, especially in tony Newport, and the governor said the authorities would be checking there.
“Yesterday I announced and today I reiterated: Anyone coming to Rhode Island in any way from New York must be quarantined,” the governor said. “By order. Will be enforced. Enforceable by law.”
Raimondo signed an executive order Thursday that applies to anyone who has been in New York during the past two weeks and through at least April 25. It doesn’t apply to public health, public safety, or health-care workers.
White House Calls For 14-Day Quarantine For All Leaving New York
National Guard members will be stationed at the T.F. Green airport, Amtrak train stations and at bus stops. The citizen-soldiers will be following up with people at local residences. The maximum penalty for not complying: a fine of $500 and 90 days in prison.
The local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union blasted the new rules, objecting to the collection of motorists’ contact information in particular.

“While the Governor may have the power to suspend some state laws and regulations to address this medical emergency, she cannot suspend the Constitution,” Rhode Island ACLU executive director Steven Brown said in a statement. “Under the Fourth Amendment, having a New York state license plate simply does not, and cannot, constitute ‘probable cause’ to allow police to stop a car and interrogate the driver, no matter how laudable the goal of the stop may be.”

Just before 1 p.m. Friday, state police were set up on Interstate 95 northbound, at the rest stop closest to the Connecticut border. A mile or two before that, motorists could see signs ordering all New York passenger vehicles to pull over at the rest stop.

One trooper could be seen there, checking license plates as cars went by. At the stop itself, a number of officers were assembled around a tent, ready to question vehicle occupants.

Question: If the Covid-19 virus is soooooo bad that we are basically on a country wide lockdown....

I understand. But again the question begs... If it is so bad.... why would the leaders of this country come together to argue the COVID-19 relief bill in Washington DC.... knowing the country is on lockdown when they could've easily voted electronically. It doesn't make sense.

The video (in its entirety) suggests its "localized" NOT a pandemic. Just thinking points. Not an argument.

Question: If the Covid-19 virus is soooooo bad that we are basically on a country wide lockdown....

Could it be a "Pandemic Hoax?"
Sure sporadic breakouts... but 880 deaths in 55,000 cases? When many deaths are being contributed to this coronavirus of people who would die anyways? (elderly, poor health, congested living, homeless etc)

And.... Why didn't we know all about this MEDIA?

Question: If the Covid-19 virus is soooooo bad that we are basically on a country wide lockdown....

…. then why would members of the Senate & House fly back to D.C. to co-mingle and argue when one could easily have voted Yea or Nay electronically?
