Kid Rock paid tribute to Eddie Money on Friday night (Sept. 13) at a venue that had become an adopted home for the late singer. Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band played a version of Money's hard rocking "Shakin'," a hit song from 1982's No Control, during their concert at the Detroit-area DTE Energy Music Theatre, formerly known as Pine Knob. The group accompanied their performance with a video screen photo of Money and the caption 1949-2019. "I'm sure you heard that Eddie Money passed away today," Rock told the crowd. "And not only was Detroit like a second home, I'm sure many of you know that Pine Knob was absolutely his house. He opened this place every summer for decades. So we wanted to come sing one tonight and pay tribute to him. So rock on Eddie." Rock finished the song asking the crowd to "put one hand in the air for Eddie Money. God bless you, Eddie. Rock on!" Money, who passed away Friday after battling advanced Esophageal cancer, had performed at the amphitheater 38 times during his career, according to 313 Presents, which operates the venue. Over the past 28 years, he played an annual Memorial Day weekend concert there, often as the summer season's opening act.
We can open carry here in Texas. I have 3 holsters. Which is what surprised me that El Paso happened. (Odessa was pretty much a horrific drive by; a daily occurrence in Cali) But El Paso sticks in my craw.
Where were all us Texans with arms.? Oh wait... That shopping center (Mercada) was designated a GUN FREE ZONE. How nice to advertise that to the loonies.
I forget the exact numbers... but I believe this is close. The US has 4% of the worlds population and 22% of the worldwide prison population. Land of the free?
I had to pay someone to leave once. True. This was AFTER I called the cops. I didn't even invite her. She just showed up (Surprise! Its me from online chat!) after getting a lot of info from me in the chat rooms. ('memba them?)
The cops said she didn't have any money to leave and go back to Florida. I gave her $300.
Come to think about it I paid another off as well. A blonde snow bunny. We met skiing in Utah. That one was my fault as I invited her here. (ack!) I paid her a total of $15k. (including getting her car fixed) But I was banking in those days so money wasn't an issue. I'm actually glad she revealed her true personality and declared her independence. She didn't know but I was in the process of buying her a hair salon (she was a cosmetologist) Altho $15k was a lot is was far less than the $40k I was fixin' to spend setting her up. whew!
I was recently thinking when I was a preteen we moved from the mid west (Oklahoma City) to the Louisiana delta. I was into the Monkees, and the Lemon Pipers (Green Tambourine) and Paul Revere and the Raiders. Once we got to Louisiana I discovered... "nasty" music LOL.
I WILL PREVAIL...(I Will Survive) by HRC feat. Gloria Gaynor At first, I was ashamed I was mor-ti-fied Knowin' Donald Trump had beat me How I cried, and cried, and cried Then I spent so many days Alone, out in the woods With a Thermos, full of gin And a flask of dry vermouth I'd hatched a plan This al-so ran Was comin' back for more The only way she can Mueller's gonna' lock him up And throw away the key But my clever scheme fell flat So, now it's up to me I know ol' Joe, swears he is fine But I'm layin' odds at two-to-one He strokes-out 'fore July I'll accept my party's draft And proudly save the day Do you think I'm humble Did you think I'd ever go away? On, no, not me...I will prevail As long as I'm still in the race They won't put me in jail I don't have that much time Yet I want what's rightly mine And I'll prevail I will pre-vail...woof, woof! It took all the strength I had Not to fall apart Whenever I'd wear pantsuits I tried so hard not to fart Toppled down so many steps It's no wonder I can't stand And when I start to tee-ter They have to toss me in the van But now you see, a brand new me I shuttered my Foundation, And the Clinton Dynasty I'm not beholden to the Arabs, The Russians, or the Jews I can sell the Oval Office To whomever I so choose So just come out...and vote for me Whatever Bernie promised you I'll double it, for free I want so badly to be POTUS, I'll even out-do A.O.C. Do you think she's cra-zy? Wait till you get a load of me Oh, no, you see...I will prevail You're gonna' vote me in this time Or you can all go straight to H*** I'm tired of all this pandering To get what I deserve Everyone of ya's deplorable And you're gettin' on my nerves I'll will prevail...cu-ckoo! I will prevail!
Born Edward Joseph Mahoney in Brooklyn, New York, Money, who grew up on Long Island, originally started out in law enforcement, his father’s profession, spending two years as a New York City police officer before deciding to try music. In Berkeley, Calif. following his move out west, he palled around with local musicians of the San Francisco club scene which led him to legendary promoter Bill Graham, whom Money met in 1976.
Graham would become Money’s manager helping him achieve multi-platinum album sales in the 1980s. Money’s arsenal of hits includes 1978’s”Baby Hold On” (peak position on the U.S. chart: No. 11) and “Two Tickets to Paradise” (No. 22), followed by “Maybe I’m a Fool” the following year (No. 22), “Think I’m in Love” (No. 16) and “Shakin'” (No. 63) in 1982, “Take Me Home Tonight” in 1986, which reached No. 4 (his highest charting song) and “Walk on Water” (No. 9) in 1988.
The far-left New York Times reports it was “airplanes” that took aim at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 — not Islamic terrorists. No kidding, this is what the New York Times published on Wednesday, the 18th anniversary of that terrible day: “Eighteen years have passed since airplanes took aim at the World Trade Center and brought them down.”
A tweet published by the Times on Wednesday announced the same bombshell: “18 years have passed since airplanes took aim and brought down the World Trade Center.”
Without bothering to retract the extraordinary news nearly 3000 Americans were the victims of airplanes that had suddenly became sentient, the Times deleted the tweet and rewrote the article.
Naturally, the article still withholds holds the crucial information about exactly who the terrorists were: “Eighteen years have passed since terrorists commandeered airplanes to take aim at the World Trade Center and bring them down,” it now reads. But nowhere in the piece will you read the words “Islam” or even “al Qaeda.” This is what Orwell called memory-holing, a deliberate act that involves the Powerful rewriting the past by erasing the past, all in the hope of controlling the future.
You can bet that had white supremacists brought down the World Trade Center, “WHITE SUPREMACIST” would appropriately blaze in every headline.
To point out just how dishonest the failing New York Times has chosen to be on this somber anniversary, try to imagine similar coverage on the anniversary of the 2015 massacre in that South Carolina church where a white supremacist murdered nine black Americans in cold blood. “Five years have passed since a gun took aim in a Charleston, South Carolina Church, and nine people died,” the Times story and tweet would read. Now let’s apply the Times’ so-called update to the 9/11 article to the Charleston shooting: “Five years have passed since a man used a gun to murder nine black Americans in a Charleston, South Carolina Church.” We can spend the whole day ridiculing the obscenity that is the New York Times… “Fifty years have passed since a gun took aim at Martin Luther King…” “Fifty years have passed since dynamite blew up four little girls in Alabama…” “Sixty years have passed since Emmett Till was strangled to death by a piece of rope…” Now let’s use the updated version of the story… “Fifty years have passed since a man killed Martin Luther King…” “Fifty years have passed since some men blew up four little girls in Alabama…” “Sixty years have passed since Emmett Till was lynched by some people…”
How in the world does the New York Times dare to write a story that claims to commemorate the 18th anniversary of a terrorist attack that murdered nearly 3000 people without reporting the WHY, without reporting the MOTIVE, without telling us WHO?
The New York Times is, by any objective journalistic standard, a terrible newspaper, a failed newspaper; or as the Daily Wire’s Andrew Klavan frequently and accurately says, a “former newspaper.”
MSNBC conspiracy theorist Rachel Maddow, best known for crying on election night when President Donald J. Trump beat the pantsuit off of Hillary Clinton, is in a whole boatload of trouble after taking the Russiagate hoax one step too far. “Herring Networks, Inc., an independent, family owned national cable television programming company based in San Diego, California, filed a defamation lawsuit today in the United States District Court, Southern District of California, against Defendants Rachel Maddow, Comcast Corporation, NBCUniversal Media, LLC, and MSNBC Cable LLC. The Complaint seeks damages in excess of $10,000,000,” according to a Monday report by One America News Network (OAN). Herring Networks owns OAN, and is alleging that it was defamed by the hysterical “news” host, and that Comcast refused to carry OAN because it is a conservative alternative to MSNBC, which Comcast owns. “The Complaint further alleges that one week after OAN’s President, Charles Herring, called out and objected to Comcast’s anti-competitive censorship in an email to Comcast’s President of Content Acquisition, MSNBC’s most popular show—The Rachel Maddow Show—opened with the show’s host, Rachel Maddow, telling her audience that OAN ‘really literally is paid Russian propaganda,'” according to OAN’s report. Maddow “really literally” has been hysterical about the “Russian collusion” hoax for the past two and a half years, which recently fell apart at the hands of former Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III, whom the political left treated as their Lord and Savior in the absence of believing in a real God. He found no collusion, and that announcement sent our esteemed left-wing media, the mouthpiece for the DNC, into a further downward spiral. Trump has – for the most part – handled the lies and defamation swimmingly, even in the face of blatantly false reporting from the likes of MSNBC, CNN, and others. But Trump is the president. He has something of an obligation, if unfair, to put up with media lies. OAN is a private company, and they don’t have that obligation. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands. “OAN asserts that, in fact, Defendants knew this statement was false and that they acted maliciously and recklessly in making it. The Complaint alleges that the statement was meant to damage OAN’s business and reputation because OAN, unlike MSNBC, presents a conservative viewpoint; and that OAN was targeted in retaliation for calling out Defendants for their anti-competitive censorship in refusing to carry OAN on its cable system,” according to the report. The political left has been hysterical (you might be noticing a pattern here) about the meteoric rise of OAN, which has often been cited by Trump on Twitter. As Fox News becomes a less reliable outlet for conservative news, OAN has largely filled that space, and likely will continue to do so. “Watching Fake News CNN is better than watching Shepard Smith, the lowest rated show on [Fox News]. Actually, whenever possible, I turn to !” Trump said in August, praising the network.
There used to be an era where some things were kept in the privacy of our own homes. Apparently, at least if you listen to the wife of Democrat Congressman Joe Cunningham of South Carolina, those days are over.
Cunningham’s wife Amanda, whom he married in 2014, went on a bizarre minute-long rant where she complained about her insurance not picking up the tab for her marriage counseling. Ouch.
“Okay, like I was saying, I’m going to have a little bit of a rant here on social media, because I think this is important,” she said on Instagram live, doing her best impression of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who is known for her absurd Instagram chat sessions. “I’ve just been going over my ‘this is not a bill’ bill from Blue Cross Blue Shield, and realizing once again that all of my mental health therapy sessions are denied, in addition to all of our marriage counseling sessions,” Cunningham said. “It’s just mind-blowing to me that these basic well-known needs, that mental health is healthcare, are still being denied – that we’re still fighting for these absolutely basic things. It’s unbelievable to me.”
For those who might be unfamiliar with how health insurance works (or is supposed to work), here’s a brief rundown: a group of people pay into a pool for healthcare, whether privately, from a paycheck from their employer, or now via taxation, and when one person in the pool needs coverage, insurance picks up the tab. In the distant past, insurance was only necessary for catastrophic illnesses, but as the cost of healthcare has risen in the United States due to various regulations, government interference, and essential monopolization of insurance and drug companies, a simple doctor’s appointment has become very expensive. Now, Americans use insurance for the most basic of healthcare needs.
When Obamacare was passed, it came along with a pernicious “individual mandate,” which forced uninsured Americans to either purchase government-subsidized healthcare, or pay a tax penalty. President Donald J. Trump ended that disaster, but the industry is still heavily subsidized by the government, and most Americans pay into the healthcare system whether they use it or not. According to Free Beacon, congresspeople and their families still use Obamacare, so the insurance that Cunningham is ranting about is fully government subsidized.
“The South Carolina Democrat is currently serving his first term in Congress, where members are given access to Obamacare ‘gold’ plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield and are responsible for paying about a quarter of the premiums,” Free Beacon said. But even though you’re paying for her insurance (and her husband’s lofty salary), Cunningham isn’t satisfied. She wants more services on the taxpayer dole. “So, I’m reaching out to my congressman – yes, also my husband – but saying like, ‘hey, what can we do about this? Let’s go to the House floor, let’s write a bill, let’s – I don’t know what you do, but let’s do it – because this is ridiculous.’ This affects us, our family, it affects everyone else who is seeking mental health and needs support doing so.”
She might want to reach out to her Congressman when he’s not busy in marriage counseling. “I’m just flabbergasted,” she finished, panning the camera over to her infant son and asking for his thoughts. Nice job with that healthcare plan, Democrats! Watch the rant:
There's some truth to this as his personal assistant was fired for leaking that he wanted to nuke Dorian. Did Trump really want to NUKE Dorian. No. Geez. But he did find out who the blabber mouth was. Trump says outrageous things to different people and when the press reports on it (and some posters like the above believe it) he knows where his weak link is and its.... YOUR FIRED!
Oh... I don't think cracking jokes about pedophilia is the same as a defunct real estate school, but then again you're the retired prison guard smoking pot for PTSD. I'm sure you know better.
