When a woman writes that re: her body shape, she is 'proportional'.....what does that really mean? Proportionally huge? Proportionally skeletal? Proportionally scaled to her ego? Proportionally scaled to her salary? Proportionally scaled to her family? Proportionally scaled to the back of a bus?
So you see, as much as I wish to give a proportionally appropriate reply to a woman with that description in her profile, I am terrified that I am reading too much between the lines.
Just my most intimate concerns shared with millions of people I'll never know, nor care much about. (apart from those who I care deeply for, you know who you are) .The universe is a lonely place.
Global trauma over loss of habitat, pandemics, bee die-offs, global warming, specie loss, rising seas, intensifying catastrophes. The endless litany of photos of marine pollution, the drum beat of the biblical end of days. Is it all getting too much for you? How do you handle the psychological stress, the angst of eco-anxiety Is this our most modern global malaise?
Daniela, we all have two lives, as the ballad says - one in reality, the other in our dreams.
You only live twice or so it seems One life for yourself and one for your dreams You drift through the years and life seems tame Till one dream appears and love is it's name
And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone
This dream is for you, so pay the price Make one dream come true, you only live twice
And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone This dream is for you, so pay the price Make one dream come true, you only live twice
Squire, we are CS comrades-in-arms. I signed on (then off) multiple times since pre-2008. The newbies will never know the playground of wit, intellect and fun it was at the inception. History, alas, does not repeat itself.
Ok, I buy into the whole mindset thing, but sometimes I think that' answer is a tad too glib. The physical must play a role, material comforts, future prospects, friends, animals/pets, the outer world etc. We cannot just live in a mental construct, a fantasy of our own willing.
Daytime talk shows in the USA are all garbage anyway. I mean, who watches that crap all day? - don't they have other stuff to do? It's made for small minds, the cheap surrogate for gossip over the neighbour's picket fence.
It is one of the saving graces of youth, that one assumes everyone has the same sort of upbringing as you do. I think Molly said something similar. That's not the case. One extrapolates from the inner sanctum of the family, that the wider world will be the same, just bigger. So one ventures forth filled with confidence and courage, because you fear nothing. If you've come from an abusive family, you expect the wider world to be the same.
'Proportional' - the most dangerous word in the Universe.
