I think Valentines Day should be reserved for lovers, for romantic love in the classical sense. The commercialism of it sours it for me.

Do you or don't you? We all have virtual friends here, some we have regular contact with, others are just profiles you have a laugh with on the forums. Question: Is it appropriate to send these platonic 'friends' a Valentine greeting, or is that debasing the very meaning of a 'Valentine.' It's the same with Christmas - it becomes just another retailing promo. Shouldn't we keep a Valentines cards and wishes exclusively for those we are romantically associated with? Otherwise it becomes just another silly round of obligatory greetings, no?
