I think some people confuse cliques with people who just share a common way about themselves, ideologies, or humour, interest, reason for being here...and as a consequence gravitate toward each other - not a clique as such, more like online pals.
The Blog Wars of 2011 saw two distinct cliques manifest with very few in between. Boy, what a time. makes the trolls and negative types around here these days appear decidedly amateurish by comparison.
1.Hand written letters - far more personal. 2.Ocean, train and airline travel - far more opulent and dignified than the cramped spaces of modern day travel. 3.Politics campaigning. A candidate would promote his/her virtues as opposed to denigrating the opposition. 4. Gas/fuel/petrol station service where an attendant would wash your windscreen and have a chat while filling your car. 5. Dancing cheek to cheek rather than trying to "Pop it like it's' hot".
How about you? How's CS working out for you? Been anywhere interesting lately? What interests or hobbies do you have? How do you stretch the grey matter? I
I just know they're mocking me, making faces as they saunter past, poking their tongue out, grimacing, laughing, scoffing, making ugly face,...thinking I don't know but me knowing exactly what their little "bad air" masquerade is all about.
Himalaya was -5 to -10 degree lows with very little humidity. Equator/tropics 28-32 degrees with around 80-100 percent humidity depending on time of year.
I've got lots of paradise about the place - hammocks seem to play a role in many of them. Alone on a deserted white sand beach in the South China Sea (Banda Islands) lazing in a hammock next to my bamboo hut sipping on a scotch as the sun dips below the horizon over a pristine ocean.
Locked away in winter with a good idea and writing.storms pass outside and time stops. The need for nothing more than an idea. You sleep when you're tired, you eat when you're hungry and try to shower occasionally. The world outside becomes a foreign land as you type, type type...with no knowledge of day, date or hour.
Playing music at two in the morning with people you've just met who hail from different parts of the world. The sun comes up, someone's now sitting in your lap, we're all drunk and deciding where to have breakfast.
Riding a motorbike through the islands of Indonesia with no aim or plan other than to keep moving. Mountains, beaches, rice paddies, cities...making it up as you go. Weird and wonderful new food, people and places. There's nothing but the now.
Living on the side of a mountain in the Himalaya for three months in a stone hut in winter. A fifteen minute walk to the village below for supplies once a week, living like a hermit with nothing but a fire and the surrounding eight thousand metre peaks for company. The excitement of meeting an English speaker months later.
You don't, that's why I said "and give you the feeling they'd be good company in real life." By using the word "feeling" I tried to convey the idea it's more of a view or opinion of what they may be like in real life as opposed to a knowing or certainty.
My pics are similar to Molly's which isn't that surprising, I guess. Molly, Pat, Bnaughty, Usha, Jac - people who don't take themselves too seriously, can express themselves, and give you the feeling they'd be good company in real life. They're people who are more inclined to have fun, flirt, laugh...
Larry - I understand its meaning. Individuals can experience nervous breakdowns, complete character transformations (for the worse), post traumatic stress disorder and other psychological episodes/conditions that are far worse than their original state of mind diminishing willpower considerably. or removing it all completely
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. There's more than the two outcomes of death or gained strength possible . Something that doesn't kill you can certainly make you weaker.
