It's the best. You vs. the course. No team chit. Never facing the same shot twice. There is no other sport to compare. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they honor and respect the game. It's easy to cheat when no one is looking. It's also a metaphor for life in many ways.

I did. I even know how to ballroom dance. Dad taught ballroom dancing as a sideline/hobby. I'm nowhere near as good as he was, but good enough to get by.
I can no longer deal with the stupidity, hatred, and ignorance I see here, there and everywhere. I've cut back my presence on all social media and am content to lose myself in books, music, and streaming services like Hulu and Netflix.
I've met some awesome people through different forums and social media venues and I hope they understand I'm not turning my back on them. However, there are some that make me question why we became friends in the first place. The lack of objectivity and the craziness I see from people I thought were intelligent is scary, depressing, and very enlightening.
It's actually kind of appropriate that today my life has come full circle. The friends that I've loved and trusted for 45 plus years are the ones most in touch with reality and sanity. I really KNOW those people. Many of the rest of you make me sad, scared, and happy that I'm closer to the end than the beginning.
I didn't read. I'm not interested in comparing death rates from times when literacy, hygiene, medical knowledge, and communication were vastly different than today. I'm sure it's really interesting, though.
However, smoking several packs a day and the fact he was a legendary drinker made the perfect recipe for throat cancer. Valerie Bertinelli finally had to divorce him because she couldn't watch while he was slowly killing himself.
Sad... That's what can happen after decades of heavy smoking. I loved the first two albums. After that I wasn't a fan, but I respected his ability. He leaves a big footprint and inspired countless guitarists.
