Funny you should mention that 'hate at first sight' ...my friend and colleague could not stand the sight of the head of IT ... and then they got married
You are right as many murders have been committed in the name or religion by many religious 'fanatics and zealots' ...
In Spain, where the catholic religion has been so important for so many years, women who marry a non catholic person can only marry in a catholic church if the husband promises to bring their children up in the catholic religion. However, in spite of the religious and apparently macho culture of Spain, women never ever give up their surnames when they marry. The possibility does not officially exist. It's impossible to change your surname once you are born ....
I cry most days a little... When I see or read something beautifly poignant in a happy or sad way... When I read something beautiful a human has done for another... When I receive happy news... When I receive sad news... When I witness someone's suffering or joy... When Iam happy for my kids or grandkids or sad for them ... I've been known to cry and laugh at the same time
I grew up in France and back then everyone had to study every subject like maths, science, geography, history, art, PE/athletics/sports, French language and grammar and literature, as well as at least 2 foreign languages, music, and technology. I went on to study Travel and Tourism for which the programme was almost identical apart from the fact maths was replaced by accountcy, technology was replaced by ticketing and other travelling agency running essentials. Art was replaced by 'history of the arts and architecture' and we also studied the impacy of tourism on the economy. Was a 3 year programme for about 7 to 8 hours a day! After which I attended Uni specialising in languages.
I would do the same again. I had such a backgound on so many subjects that no matter what I did later some knowledge I had picked up during those years would come in useful.
I later trained to be a teacher and later as an artist ...
I don't begrudge any of my 'learning' and even music which I found boring when we were learning solfeggio has come in handy to read the music sheets when I joined a choir in the last few years
The petrol tank of my car seems to permanently indicate almost empty no matter how much money I spend putting petrol in it whereas before with half the investment it lasted at least twice as many kilometres Ohhhh and gas and eletric bills! Horribly high in Spain!
And grocery shopping same amount of money no longer provides the same amount of essentials.
I'm glad I did the important home improvement works a few years back as now materials have trebbled if not quadrupled in price with months of waiting list while the manufacterers wait for deliveries.
For the rest, I downsized my lifestyle to 'simple' about 14 years ago and live in an area rich in healthy produce so I don't notice so much.
Will make sure I have a good stock of wood for my stove (and cooking if necessary) and non perishables in the cupboards for the winter ...
I don't know how many but I get a lot of mail from guys younger than my kids ... my last 'boyfriend' was way younger than me... I prefer the wisdom and maturity of a man closer to my age as long as he's healthy physically, mentally and spiritually...
42C yesterday... Looking after our exhibition for the day ... don't usually like aircon but yesterday I was glad for it ... was still really hot when I went home a 9pm
Yeah Bod! Why don't you take up a real sport like golf or tennis where the worse that can happen if you lose your focus for a minute is that you lose the game and have to buy a round of drinks. Not like those climbers who only stand to lose their life if they don't pay attention! Be a real man and take up tennis!
My niece and I are fluent in 3 languages and always set our sat nav in a different language from the country we're in so we can be entertained by the mis-pronunciations as we're guided to our destination
RE: *For the Ladies"
You make me laugh! Loosing ones libido 'for a couple of hours' cannot be described as 'loosing ones libido'
