For me it sounds weird that any sibling should be speaking to another in any manner other than equal terms. Once everyone is an adult not one should have authority over the other.
I don't understand the concept of 'a younger sibling speaking to an older one as though they're the younger sibling' because that speaks of the existence of there being an accepted hyerarchy between siblings even if it's happening in the wrong direction.
We don't have that problem with my siblings. We discuss family issues on equal terms.
May be establishing a certain equality between you and all your siblings may help everyone realise they have authority over anyone else...

And if you do a search discrimination V discernment what I meant may become apparent. May be for the reason that discrimination can be used in a negative connotation sense whereas discernment could not ...
So my point may be that discernment is a weighing of the pros and cons of a situation whereas discrimination maybe the result of a judgement without just cause. Discernment could never happen without just cause, whereas discrimination could. That's my point.

Could also be symbolic ... like a warning ... you're about to repeat the same pattern with somebody else as you did with that person... or somebody you recently met is just like that person but not immediadely apparent ...
