His mother said he was on suicide watch in her statement... I have no reason to doubt her words!
I am no longer replying to any of your comments on this thread because most of them have shown a distinct lack of empathy and knowledge of mental health care and protocols
It will be in his medical notes. The grieving mother can't invent "suicide watch" . It's recorded. There will be notes on his progress or lack of. Suicide watch is not something that can be "made up". It leaves a trail of recorded notes. Meetings with ward manager to make and implement the decision. Ward and psychiatrist appointed as well as date of review according to progress. Also medication prescribed etc.

Suicide watch means "a member of staff is assigned just and specifically to watch the person on suicide watch 24h". That member of staff is not allowed to do anything else! No other duties!!!!!
Unlike you I know exactly what being on "suicide watch" means and who excatly is responsible for the welfare of the person during "suicide watch" time ...
I'm not feeling as generous as you towards the staff... I've witnessed too much to know mistakes are made not only just because they're ran off their feet. Sometimes it's also because they judge and blame the people with mental illness and truly think they're just not trying hard enough or they're being "naughty". And the lives of our loved ones are in their hands when they're hospitalised
