RE: If after life you came back as a dog, which breed would you be...?

And a wise one too!

RE: If after life you came back as a dog, which breed would you be...?

This is the most logical comment I have read...so far! thumbs up

RE: Do you prefer to read...long or short comments?

That's not true! I've never attacked you! scold

RE: Do you prefer to read...long or short comments?

I prefer quality to quantity.

If it's interesting info, I usually read it all.

If it's a debate in a dialogue form, I like it clear, concise and to the point.

If it's a reply to a comment..I like it short and sweet.

RE: Anyone else here have body piercings ?

Hmmm...you forgot the other one?

RE: Anyone else here have body piercings ?

NO..no piercings nor tattoos! I've never mutilated my body.

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

Yeah..and I don't like people close to me if they stink of tobacco. doh

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

Really? uh oh

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

Well..for me, I haven't had any visitors for some time now.
They're all confining into their homes with fear at the moment.

Very quiet here now and, to tell you the truth, I'm enjoying the animals' company better. smile

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

The lack of socialising and physical contact is certainly doing this to us now but...

Not necessary loneliness.

RE: Name some qualities that make you unforgettable

I've been told by many (men and women) that I have magnetism.

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

We have coconuts here.

I do know the psychological effects loneliness can have on some people.grin

RE: A neuroscientist’s hunt for loneliness could help us better understand the costs of social isolation

What about socialising with a coconut?

The film "cast away" comes to mind.

I have never felt lonely as I enjoy my own company.

The New Norm

Hola guapa! wave

I was correcting the Still, and not Steal.

But you've made a point.laugh

What about your country, Mel, anything to share?

The New Norm

ANYMORE STORIES ANYBODY???

The New Norm

Hmm..your situation with the doctor's appoint does sound ridiculous! doh

Ours does make things easier in a way, as long as you don't have anything too serious.
How on earth can they make a diagnosis from the info you give them on the phone, without seeing you and examining you??dunno

Even worse if a translator has to do it for you!!!doh

Sometimes people ask me to make phone calls for them, in which case I need to know the facts.

RE: How do you know you are ready to share your life with someone ?

Haha...for me it would have to be HIS time...as well as ME time...
And the US time somewhere inbetween.dancing

The New Norm

Hmmm...one must wonder? grin

The New Norm

Thanks for sharing Cossak. thumbs up

RE: Do you believe there is someone watching over you?

Yeah..!

RE: Do you believe there is someone watching over you?

Yes, BB is watching! grin

The New Norm

Since our lockdown last March, precautions have been gradually introduced.

For example:

1. Masks were not available, so their use couldn´t be made mandatory but, as soon as they were, they had to be used in ALL public places and 100-euro fines for non-compliance!

2. Chemists, Banks, Admin offices etc. - Entrance limited to three persons, resulting in long frustrated queues waiting outside in the sun in temperatures in the 40s C - some people passing out! (or pouring rain!). And, of course, no distancing to be seen because of the lack of space on the public pavements.

3. Supermarkets - The larger ones being restricted to 40 and gloves and masks mandatory.
The small ones, distancing is not possible and people are elbowing their way past and standing on your feet.
To increase the fun, these restrictions are not harmonious throughout Spain! confused

4. Doctors - They are closed to the public, except for emergencies.
The rest must make a telephone appointment for a telephonic consultation, and prescriptions - if necessary - will be electronically sent to a chemist to be picked up.

Now, to further the enjoyment, those who cannot speak Spanish will need to give a translator´s phone number who will, of course, need to know all your particulars in order to relay your symptoms and act on your behalf.
Rumour has it this has sometimes gone wrong!

Socialising with friends or... "anti-social" behaviour, as it is now called -
Frowned upon, but tolerated up to six people.
As for friends visiting in your own home, if living outside the community, it is not encouraged!

Up until the end of last year, all this would have seemed extreme. But now, it has become the new "norm", even to the point where face masks have become a fashion accessory.

Is there any road back from the point we have now reached?
Many of the measures stated above seem to be only bureaucratic as NO improvement is to be seen and, in fact, the situation is deteriorating daily.

I´d like to hear about the situation in other countries???

Apart from that, the sun is still shining and the sea is blue and warm.

RE: How do you know you are ready to share your life with someone ?

I´ve shared almost all my life with someone - and 3 kids.

Now, it is ME time. dancing

RE: The Police are exhausted and they are going to do what they have to do.

Maybe you should open your misty eyes a little bit, snowy, and look outside your doorstep?

Now that school has started again, teachers are starting strikes and also want to protest against the lack of safety in the schools.
After being tested with PCR tests, many have tested positive although showing no symptoms and have had to do a quarantine, resulting in schools having to close down.

Parents are the next ones to protest because they are scared to send their kids to school and are threatened to go to jail if they don´t, and have their kids taken away from them!
They are testing the kids every morning before entering the school (with that stupid temperature check!) and some have tested positive.
Therefore, they had to be sent home on quarantine, as well as their family.

And now, you wonder why parents don´t want to send the kids to school, and teachers don´t want to work ? uh oh

But, these are not the only issues..

RE: The Police are exhausted and they are going to do what they have to do.

Time to end protests???wow

It's only just started!

I don't know about those in America?
I'm talking about Europe.
And we need a lot more before anyone takes any notice!

RE: The Best compliments... to give a man

Oh..the ex friend from Galway?
I could write a lymerick for him and his lilt.

And others for everyone in Ireland...

Dublin, Mayo, Belfast...

I'll have to ponder on that.?

Maybe I'll post it in the poet's corner. Watch that space! wink

RE: The Best compliments... to give a man

Oh well...maybe my French accent was also difficult for him to understand but I don't think so.
He made a special effort to speak a bit more clearly...at times.

RE: The Best compliments... to give a man

Cork accent? You can't understand?wow

After a while I got used to it though. I could understand about 95%. thumbs up

RE: The Best compliments... to give a man

He was from Cork.
But I also had friends from Dublin whose accent I loved too!

Also, the accent from Edinburgh is like music to my ears.

RE: The Best compliments... to give a man

I DID! wink
