I'm not bothered what people think or say with regards wearing of a mask ,I choose to do the things which will protect me personally, so prefer to stay at home wherever possible.
Bringing David Icke into the conversation is a whole new ball game which cracked me up to be honest.
You've always been popular. Unfortunately your thought process is not to those who are concerned for the welfare of others.
How can social distancing be laughable. It's free and good advice. Wearing a mask is done to protect others as much as yourself. It won’t kill you! Anyone with a compromised immune system or any other condition that could be affected by the virus are advised to stay in isolation if possible.
Recommendations around mask usage are confusing. The science isn't. Evidence shows that masks are extremely effective to slow the coronavirus and may be the best tool available right now to fight it.
Why do you suppose surgeons and others in operating theatres have been wearing these masks for years Nothing to do with Covid or profit making. Just common sense.
Not wishing to get into an in depth argument re Spanish Flu as I understand it a chef in the American Army based in the U.S. contracted it, and due to W.W.1 it spread .
Whatever our personal thoughts on these viruses and diseases they do kill in huge numbers which is my main concern, so if someone tells me to protect myself I'm sure as hell going to do it.
Whilst I realise from your posts that you "mock" Covid 19 for whatever reason, talking about World depravation in the same sentence makes no sense.
Would you have felt the same about Spanish Flu . Was that a figment of people's imagination .We have had many "plagues" over the history of the World which has decimated populations ,this being another.
It's here and it's real however it developed and spread.
Hunger is the most extreme form of poverty. Today 852 million people across the world today are hungry. Each day about 16,000 children die from starvation. Every year 15 million people die from hunger. Every five seconds a child dies from hunger, a mother loses her child, and someone loses a friend.
Good for you Serene. No-one knows what these people have and are suffering.
I don't give money to street people as there are a lot of con artists out there begging but I usually ask if they'd like a drink and a sandwich etc. just to keep them going. In London they have a free vet service that checks on their dogs too.
We are a nation of fish eaters and fish has become quite pricey recently. There is a global shortage of fish due to overfishing and many fish today are farm sourced.
North Atlantic Blue tuna are caught in our territorial waters and sold to the Japanese markets mainly by the Spanish and French. This is one of the reasons Barnier is trying to hang on to some form of agreement regards fishing rights. It's a real bone of contention.
Current rules say even if vessels are 100% foreign-owned, they must have an "economic link" to the UK. That means they must meet one of five conditions, which include landing more than half their catch at UK ports or having majority British crews.
In March, Environment Secretary George Eustice said planned changes under the Fisheries Bill will ensure foreign-owned boats "are required to land more of their catch in UK ports, and return more economic benefit to the UK".
He added: "In future any foreign company that wanted to buy vessels in the UK might well be able to, but it would be subject to that new condition."
NATO is more for defence of a country so can't see it getting involved in fishing rights somehow..
DEFRA are the ones who defend our waters re fishing rights and they would be stretched to the limit trying to defend the North Atlantic shipping zone against EU invasion if we have no deal.
Let's hope that it doesn't happen especially for our own fishing services. I love fish from the North Atlantic.
Hate to think of another "Cod War " that we had back in the 70's as we lost out to Iceland big time. This time it could be over Atlantic blue tuna that Spain and France export to Japan big time .
Whilst I'm still against a walk out ,and the fact that the E.U. have had too much control regards our fishing rights I wouldn't want a battle royal as we could come unstuck trying to defend our waters.
Not that simple as I tried to explain before. More than £160m worth of the English quota is in the hands of vessels owned by companies based in Iceland, Spain and the Netherlands, thanks to a practice known as "quota-hopping". That amounts to 55% of the quota's annual value in 2019. Taking back control of UK fishing waters was a key issue for many Brexit supporters.
But with fishing still an obstacle in the UK's trade talks with the European Union, the figures raise questions about what taking back control will actually mean.
This was in yesterdays Brexit negotiations. Differences are said to remain on the issues of a level playing field for businesses, governance, state aid rules and fishing rights. The EU’s preference for a role for the European court of justice is also a sticking point.

I think the word you are looking for is figmentA fragment is a small part broken off or separated from something. That would be painful Dev.
