RE: What are you busy doin'?...

My mates have told me to get a dog buggy but knowing Cherie she'd be humiliated and jump out.laugh

She's fine in the garden and walking around the Park seeing her mates . I just have to realise that canal walks and beach trips are off the cards now.sigh

Not necessary, just happy to have put a smile on your face.

RE: Should we teach our significant other how to love us?

I can't type for laughing. You've just made my day.yay

RE: Should we teach our significant other how to love us?

Loving someone requires committing emotionally, physically, and spiritually to the other person.

Every relationship needs two committed people. That means two people working towards the common interest of the relationship. You also need to love yourself otherwise you won’t know what love is because you are out of tune with what makes you feel good and generally turn to someone with the same negativities. Loving someone also involves genuine trust between both parties. It means that even though you may have fears, you don’t let them outweigh your love for that person.

A good relationship requires responsibility and consistency and trust towards each other to allow the relationship to build and grow.

At the end of the day people who are in good relationships that are going somewhere don’t ask whether they’re in a good relationship. They’re too busy living and getting on with their lives and know they’re happy.heart wings

Hope you're feeling better Merc. teddybear

RE: Plans ?

Wish i could post piccies . Still trying to work out how but keeps coming up embedded ? Never had the problem when I was on here before.sigh

Love the boys and girls .Am I seeing a German Shepherd, Jack Russell ,Lasso Apso cross, mastiff and rotweiller ?

I have a rescue German Spitz used for breeding. She was a bag of nerves when I got her but is the most amazing creature and so devoted. All the neighbours adore her and she could almost be a therapy dog she is so good with people. My best friend .teddybear

RE: Plans ?

Bengals are great but full of energy and they love water believe it or not. Their fur is called a pelt and they can be quite mischievous. My daughter has 2 that are sisters and they visit her horses in their stables and disappear quite often into the hayloft. Little tykes to be truthful but lovable

RE: Plans ?

I waited till retirement and took myself off to Spain for 7 years. I raised monies for a large dog shelter in La Linea holding outdoor markets and raffles .I also raised money for a children's charity by holding a Treasure Hunt and raffle . It was great fun. Now I raise money for our local Donkey Sanctuary by having coffee mornings etc.

Your love of rescue dogs is commendable so do you know anyone that would help you to run a Dog rescue centre.?

Never give up your expectations and keep that motivation moving. Spend time really thinking about your future and what YOU want from life .You're a survivor and raising a child with autism is a gift in itself so be proud of what you have achieved so far. I worked with children with learning difficulties and the rewards far outway the downsides.

It's amazing just what you can do with the right mindset so you go girl.cheering

That's because it was worth a second read.hug

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Hi blathinwave

Some people love to control others and frankly I just laugh at their attempts to do so on a websiterolling on the floor laughing

You only have to look at their posturing on the threads and their long winded epistles and the need to ridicule others, especially women, to see the problems within themselves. I'm told that someone is" disgusted with the company I keep"dunno Didn't realise I had a C.S. member as a neighbour.laugh This site is not my life ,it's a place to while away time ,discuss topics, if allowed to have an opinion that is, and take a breather from the trials of life taking place at the moment as I don't need a mask to socialise on here.grin

Just ignore the caustic comments and be the better person and walk away. hug

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

I was referring to the past with regards contacts. On here I try to be friends with most posters and prefer to have a laugh rather than get bogged down in the political minefields. I have enough friends and family in the real world.

As for the UK /EU situation we will always have a connection as we are part of Europe, but I rather think that there will be a domino effect in the near future with other countries pulling away eventually.

Unlike most posters I've lived through several wars, lost family members, so need no reminders. I've watched the world as we know it change , with so much hate for others and it's getting worse. I don't profess to understand the politics of the many countries that are rising up against each other, but it's not a peaceful place to exist any more to be honest.

I'd much rather exist in a utopian society than a dystopian one .handshake

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

I'm not irritated by it just a tad disgusted with people's manners towards others.I don't class myself as a victim laugh I'm just stating facts .

You know G.B I was on here about 18 years ago and it was great fun. Yes you had the odd spat but nothing like the back biting that goes on nowadays. I only came back to relieve the boredom of lockdown as I have to self isolate and thought it might be some light entertainment ,but of late it's got pretty nasty with people being banned etc.

Some lovely people have left and I'm pleased to say that I' m still friends with some of them off site.

Take care and have a good evening ,someone is trying to phone me.wine

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Well I sincerely hope that if you reach my age that people will treat you with respect and not keep referring to you being in your dotage. Also it's to my credit that I am totally honest in my profile re my age, unlike some who are stuck in a time warp and have vivid imaginations about their life style and talk a load of garbage.

I'm an educated person and come here to learn from others given a the chance but some posters on here are incapable of debating or for that matter listening to another person's point of view. and seem to think that I should spend my days knitting and am a sad lonely old bat.

Nothing could be further than the truth. G.B. handshake

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Supermarkets have been selling misshapen fruit and veg for ages. They also donate much to food banks so it doesn't get thrown away.

The below headline was from 2018

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

You totally missed the point G.B. I was referring to your return to C.S hug

As for the E.U. I keep repeating but no-one listens. I do want out, but to walk away without ANY negotiations for trade deals would be penny wise and pound foolish. 50% of our trade is with the E.U. at present and probably visa versa.

The UK will need an agreement with the EU to stop new tariffs and other trade barriers coming into force after the transition period ends on 31 December 2020.

During the transition period the UK will remain part of the EU's trading arrangements - the single market and the customs union. That means no tariffs, quotas or checks will be introduced.

The point of the transition is to give both sides some breathing space while a trade deal is negotiated, and to give businesses time to get ready.

If any trade deals are reached, either with the EU or other countries, they will not start until the transition period ends.

No deals no trade.

Just my humble take on things. G.B.

handshake

RE: Recipes!

Hi Mikey,

My small contribution would be to find a good woman who can cook.hug

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Who let the dogs out tongue

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Hi Miss Cellaneouswave

The remark was made to me by the know it all sheeples from New Zealand namely Hexagonkeyset [though obviously not good at opening doors to decent conversation.] who thinks it's hilarious to name call women and even men on here . He's started attacking blathin in a more than derogatory manner which frankly is appalling . He has little or no respect and comes across as a misogynist .Sad that people can't have an opinion without being torn to shreds by the many male chauvinists on this site.

Like many on here he rants on and thrusts his thoughts down people's throats but I notice he hasn't bothered to come back and debate my response.

On line bullying, and yes that's exactly what it is , is rife and if you dare to challenge them their male hormones rage even more laugh

I've no doubt whatsover that once again my age will be the topic on conversation yet again. telling me to go do some knitting but it's better than counting New Zealand sheep as that really would be a nightmarerolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Don't read me wrong ,I'm all for leaving and frankly we should never have joined in the first place but that's another matter.sigh

I would just prefer it if we did it in a cordial manner with a trade deal in place to protect OUR interests. We will have too many delays striking deals the WTO if we leave without a deal and will end up in no man's land. Our economy has taken a huge hit of late and we need to get back on track without a further dip in our economy.

handshake

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

@ blathin

Just as a point of interest re Brexit we are in a transitional period re prescription drugs as 3/4s of our meds come in from the E.U.

If we leave with no deal this could have a devastating effect on so many from children to seniors who rely on a daily basis on certain meds to keep them alive.sigh

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Thanks blathin.handshake

I'm constantly insulted for standing up to the posters on here because I DO take an interest in my own finances, whereas others just want out at whatever cost.

They seem to think our status is great in the economic market but it's failing badly especially since Covid.
At the moment we are the 6th strongest economy but that could drop at any moment as we are in a downward spiral with regards our economy. That's why Boris is putting us all at risk by opening up too soon. It's about money not health. Now he's dithering as to whether we should wear masks in shops. doh: My daughter's hairdressing business with approx 40 staff full and part time has been in lock down since March and only just opened and the restrictions are horrendous.

Just in case anyone reading this is interested here's the latest on the economy. and it's not that healthy.

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

If only it were that simple.sigh

We have so little time and a mountain to climb . Not only our fishing rights but now more delays on travel arrangements and Trade deals. As I said before and got ridiculed this is far from settled .

Today's update on fishing rights etc.

RE: Wake n bake..;)

I'm English but my husband was from Dundalk so I used to bake Soda bread made with buttermilk. My G.P. was from Cork and always asked me to bake her bread for her. As you say nothing like a slice just from the oven.applause

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

It's a huge bone of contention at the moment Pekaatje and one that must be sorted before we finally exit the EU.handshake

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Do me a favour publish and be damned then get it out of your system. Nothing you direct at me bothers me in the slightest. Unlike you I don't post on here to win a popularity contest and can take any criticism thrown my way without throwing my toys out of the pram.talk to hand

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

What's the matter Hex .You losing your grip. All you can do is TRY to insult me instead of responding to my post in an intelligent and informed manner.doh

RE: Britain’s long goodbye will leave an unfillable hole in the EU project

Go on then make it public. I've got nothing to hide or I wouldn't be back on here, though I really do wonder why.

I didn't derail your post I queried it, but as usual you tried to shoot me down instead of responding in an intelligent manner and insulting me by telling me I am unpatriotic.

Seems my age bothers some men on here. We don't all sit at home knitting .grin
