I thank God that most people in the nation can determine facts better than you and other dwindling numbers of right-wingers. The majority of US citizens realize that Trump has shrugged his shoulders and walked away from his responsibility to lead. If he had instituted measures like South Korea and Germany did, we would not be in the circumstances we're in today. But Trump has done nothing except insist the the virus will go away.

A Trump supporter turned on me, after months of friendly and flirty online chats and calls, when I pointed out the errors in his conspiracy theories and proved to him that Trump lies about everything from the Veterans Choice Act (signed into law by Obama, not Trump as he claims) to the extent of his powers, which he erroneously views as almost limitless.

I tried to reason with him. It didn't work, because he's s a Trump supporter, and thus has checked his critical reasoning skills at the door. In short order, he decided I was an enemy of the people. He labeled me a "vet parasite" and a "double-dipper" because I collect DIC (Dependency and Indemnity Compensation) from the VA due to my husband's 20-year disability and ultimate death (throughout which I cared for him at home) caused by his Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. I also get free CHAMPVA Medicare supplement. My Trump-loving friend says that I do not deserve these benefits, and I belong in the "hall of shame."
This otherwise wonderful man, for whom I was developing real affection, hated me intensely just because of his politics as a Trump supporter, and the skewed world view he adapted as a result. He concluded that I am a Satanist because I was appalled by Trump's Bible stunt and by the administration's violation of the protester's First Amendment Rights.
All of this hurt. It was inexplicable to me because I've never encountered this kind of bias before. What is it about Trump that he can inspire such venom among his supporters toward ordinary hard-working patriotic Americans?
