Years ago we have a home exchange with a family from Canada, we lived in Germany. We never sent photos but wrote letters ( the ones that you put in letter boxes) several months before we met. I knew exactly what they looked like, all 4 of them, only I had imagined the daughter (16) with long blond hair but she had a short cut hair style. I mentioned it and she said she had cut her long hair a few days before traveling. So you can see what people look like even without photos.
