He's right here! laugh

RE: Dating an alcoholic

Been there, done that. Never again. laugh

RE: 48 years ago this day the remaining U.S. combat troops finally left Vietnam.

That's the truth! Refusing to hold elections and expecting to back an unpopular dictator was doomed to fail even if the US pulled it off in South Korea.

RE: 48 years ago this day the remaining U.S. combat troops finally left Vietnam.

48 years ago and we honestly should have left earlier than that.

The link from VOA is interesting. Voice of America is literally a US-gov't propaganda outlet, filled with stories containing spin and sometimes outright lies. It used to be illegal for VOA news to be broadcast inside the US. The gov't didn't want Americans listening to that misinformation and many objected to the entire concept of the US gov't taking our tax money and spending that money to lie to us.

Those common-sense restrictions were removed and now VOA has free reign.

What hair style should I keep -- long or shorter?

And bonus points for the first person who knows who said the included quote. laugh

RE: Are you getting a covid-19 shot ?

I got the 2 shots of the Moderna vaccine and had nothing butt the sore arm. No flu-like symptoms or other oddities.

From what I've read some people's immune system will react to the vaccine, it just depends on the person. It's odd, because unlike the traditional flu shot, the mRNA-based vaccines of both Moderna and Pfizer contain none of the actual virus.

RE: Are you getting a covid-19 shot ?

Actually the human testing was not rushed. The testing for a normal vaccine in normal times is a 2 month study. Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines had the normal, full 2-month studies done on them.

And what's interesting is with a normal vaccine the number of humans the tests/study is done/experimented on is quite low/small -- a small number just to limit liability lawsuits in case something goes wrong.

But with the urgency of the COVID-19 vaccines the studies/tests were done on a massive amount of people in multiple countries on multiple continents (especially the Pfizer vaccine!) -- that's very different than the normal vaccine procedure.

The main thing that was rushed was the peer review and gov't oversight. That is the rushed part and where bureaucracy was cut.

Now, with the massive numbers of people being injected, we'll see very quickly if there are problems.

And after months, we're only seeing different vaccines being more or less effective for the "variant"/mutations of the virus that are popping up -- things the vaccines were not designed for.

What's likely to happen is we'll need "booster" shots to cover the variants. That's the same thing about how we need a new/different flu shot every year (the common flu is also a coronavirus).

What's pathetic is that taxpayers (mainly US, but also German and British) paid to develop these damned vaccines yet Pfizer and Moderna are allowed to make massive profits from them! And if we need boosters Big Pharma is going to be laughing all the way to their repeated trips to their bank. very mad

RE: Are you getting a covid-19 shot ?

Yes, I already got both shots of the Moderna mRNA vaccine. It was no big deal, no side effects or bizarreness.

Right now I'm making plans to travel more now that our winter chaos is over and I'm supposedly producing anti-bodies for COVID-19.

RE: Shark fin soup

I'd say a much bigger problem for sharks is the over-fishing that we're doing. very mad

Sadly, that seems to be the case. sigh

It's not just that. There are so very few normal-ish type dating sites left.

Most have transformed into sites that demand way, way too much personal info just to use their site.:
