I doubt it came out of their lab. Testing on bats and wild life has found 100s of new viruses. Where China is to blame is cultural idiosyncrasy that has people eating weird things. There have been outbreaks before in their wet markets.
When we butcher animals, they ship to a plant. Carcasses are handled pretty cleanly. Once the cuts are made, they are shipped frozen. In a grocery store, they are kept cold, sold in sealed packages or behind cold cases.
If we buy live animals, it is from a farmer who ships it to a butcher. Or we take it home, butcher it and wash it and freeze it.
China has live animals of all kinds caged in crowded cages, all jumbled with each other. If one buys it, the owner butchers it on the spot. And the buyer carts it home. Fish, meats, veggies, fruits all are displayed on open tables. If ice is under the meat, I would be surprised.
Imagine if we shopped at our stores and the meat was all sitting on tables in the parking lot!
China's blame is to not regulate those markets. Stop people from selling and eating bats! Or using weird animals parts as medicine. And to take it more seriously when disease rises its head.
The cover up mimics what the world tries.

Closest I ever got to that was using a cutting torch when ex and I junked cars. I am crazy for cast iron and wrought iron. Be nice to make arbors and fences welded. My guy was up this week and welded the cab corners on my 49 Chevy pickup. I end up screwing metal together. Made a lawn car like an old roadster. Now am covering a wire Xmas buck deer with aluminum flashing. Course can't weld that anyway.
I could weld together lawn ornaments. Make a T'rex or dragon.
I wanted to learn drums. Didn't happen.

Unfortunately, pretty much yes. I have a few people I can ask for help. Most of the time, dont bother. If you want it done today and done right, do it yourself! I dislike doing some things myself now, but capable still. I cant work on my 1976 truck. My 02 car..forgetaboutit! Dang computerized, stuffed into a box #%$$&$%!

Moved to this farm when a baby and been here ever since. Except less than two years with ex for army time.
Only child, dad was older than mom by 25 years. We were the 3 Musketeers. One for all and all for one. Ran wild in woods, river and barn. Friends were animals. Only people I saw outside of school were adults so grew up old. My parents were the best I could have asked for. Taught me, supported me, loved me, were my parents and later my friends. Dad taught me when he died, the farm and mom were my responsibility and taught me the skills and strength to do it.

Can't say proud. Content? OK with? Satisfied how my parents shaped me and life shaped me? I have quirks, habits and attitudes that others might disagree with. But, I am who and how I am. Glad to have made my way in life, learned all I could and still do...cared for those I loved, protected my farm and animals that depended on me.
Too late now to change. There are things I said and did, wish I hadn't, and those I wish I had.
I apologized once to my ex. He said that is OK..he did stuff also.
We do the best we can with what life gives us. I stand by the never judge until you walk a mile in their moccasins. Everyone makes a decision on 100 factors. No one else can because they never have all 100. Even on missing makes a difference in what one does.

Bugs lives matter

Stop killing insects. With no bug, no fruit or veggies. No birds or fish. With no food, no us. Used to drive a car and windshield would get so bad in summer, have to use washer. Turn on yard light at night and see swarms of bugs. Now I see a few baby bumble bees trying to pollinate my plants. The wasps no longer dive bomb me when I exist the house in late summer.
Went down by my apple tree yesterday. Tried to find some fallen that were decent and toss some over fence to mule and ewes. And realized, no bees nor wasps. It used to be hazardous to pick up apples. Either they were hovered over by wasps and bees or one would be under it eating a hole.
I did not see a single one.
The only bugs heavy are skeeters. Maybe flies. Hardly any moths, butterflies, bees, grass hoppers or others.
People keep spraying and poisoning insects as pests. We are the pests. Before you swat that bug, think about the food you eat. Instead of a worm in an apple, there will be no apples.

This race is going to be a lulu. Of all the picks..Kamala or what ever her name is. Talk about pandering to the left, the BLM, the Liberals and the free loaders! If she is not a Socialist, no idea who is. I watched when he introduced her. He was a the lectern and she sitting. Talk about hostile body language. Arms crossed, legs crossed..if she could have shut him out any more...? Then he sat and was feet on floor, arms relaxed, hanging on every word like a puppy dog obeying his mistress.
The baggage she is carrying, and him will have Trump jumping for joy tearing into both. Sit back and laugh!
Funny how the BLM is defund cops and she has both feet smack into law enforcement.

Hugs from parents or spouse are great. Others..nah. There are people who can hug and make one feel good. Then there are those who might as well wear armor.
For some reason, everyone wants to hug me. Men, women..ARGH! I thought of wearing a t shirt with a snarling, bloody wolf and the words..Do I LOOK cuddly!?
Best hugs were my late dog. I could hug her and all the stress and tension melted right out of me...like she absorbed it all. Miss those hugs.

Since birth. Parent and I ran 144 head of sheep. Still on the farm. Sheep now are two ewes. At 70 all I care to handle. Plus the world has changed as to worth of sheep.

Life at my age is nostalgia..memories of what was. Hot rods, autos, choppers and the life past. I watched the Cars video. Car shows is what I have now. Not the drag races, burning out cars to junk, stock cars and demoing cars in fields. The motorcycles, bros, choppers. Speed, engines roaring through headers. The guys we knew, mostly now all dead.
Being young and thinking the life we were leading would go on forever. Life marches on, we don't. We get left behind wondering what happened. Everyone gets to that degree. Trying to figure out the current world and fitting in it when we don't really want to.
Every young person living today will see time march on and what they knew and loved fade into history. Just as we have, parents had, grandparents and all those before them.

Biden is Populist more than anything. What is messed up in the US, and some foriegn countries, is that no matter who the leader is, the loser blocks and tears down everything. Even if it is what they wanted also.
I often say, our system of checks and balances has checked us into immobility.

Why doesn't anything work!

I think it is the greed factor of companies. They think they can manipulate shoppers. Throw everything at them and they will impulse buy. Wrong! I just get fed up and quit.
Ebay is a good one for lose leaders. They show the item you are after at a super cheap price. Then when you go to look and select it, oh, guess what..price jumps to what everyone is at. So hunt through choices and find out it is some stupid little bit that is the price listed. Think I will now pay the higher price. Nope. GONE! If you think you can lure me in and then try to cheat me...up yours. I will buy from the honest seller then.
It gets very frustrating that these selling sites think we are such fools that we aren't wise to their tricks.
If I want a baby blue pillow, I am NOT going to buy a baby buggy! Nor a blue sofa!

That is a good question. I wonder why I am alive. For what? Nature has created a vast world of wonder. To what purpose? Good or bad, everything has a life span and then dies. Makes no sense to me. Are we all just entertainment for whatever power exists? Are we an experiment?
I have lived a long life, learned much, done much. And now I face the end and it all goes with me to dirt. Seems a waste of time. Maybe the lazy drunk is the smart one.

Reading again about Korea. Why were we taught General MacArthur was a hero? Maybe he did well in WW2. But, with Korea, he caused the slaughter of his own men with his ego. Like so many "leaders" who should have been tried for crimes against humanity, he was never charged with anything.
My guy said he thinks he was killed in his staff car. Maybe a hit by the CIA he hated?? Hope he had time to think.
The sad part of war is how the soldiers get treated. Some are called heroes, others baby killers. The rest fall in between. War doesn't ask them their druthers. Some wars welcomed their soldiers home with open arms and maybe a GI bill. Other times they had to slink back home and pretend it never happened.
The worst is expecting them to just jump right back in like they never left. Pick up where they had been and move on. Unfortunately, the world had been moving on without them. And they struggled to find their way.
Some are still struggling.

I just sent feedback to Joann fabrics. Worst site ever to maneuver. And find something and it says not at local store and can't ship. So...why is it listed?
Main on line drives me batty. Type in baby blue plate and they send you anything with baby, or blue or plates, including baseballs!!! Oh, don't forget the automobile stuff cause you know they have license plates.

That 1916 video made me tear up. My dad was drafted at about 18 to fight for the Kaiser. He was one of those German soldiers in WW1. And as many, they go not for loyalty to countries leaders, but because they are ordered. Go, get it over with and come home. If they can.
He told me about how he hated the Cossacks. How they were supposed to be fearless warriors. and how they ordered the Polish soldiers to advance while they stayed back. And when some refused, shot them in the back.
He told me some stories. Another was where they spent a week in waist deep cold water in a trench. How the they followed the Russians. Who burned the villages of their own people and took all the food. Scorched earth policy. When the Germans arrived, short on supplies, the people begged. He said how could you eat a piece of candy with some child gazing at it. And how he gave it to the child instead.
How can anyone who has not lived it, have any idea of the horrors soldiers live through. The saying I can just imagine is so hollow. NO! We can't!
Nam was about money. And idiots in government who thought if Nam fell...China would march across the Asian continent.
The Bay of Tonkin was fake news. Our leaders and Generals had no idea of the real Vietnamese minds.
Failure built on failure after failure..that is the way of most wars.

The one constant in this world is that there will always be new soldiers marching off to war. I never understand why old soldiers send their sons to war. The glory of it! The character building! That great 21 gun salute when they bury you and that nice flag your loved ones get to take home instead of you.
My dad fought. Only time I ever saw him cry was sitting thinking at the kitchen table. Why dad!
He apologized..men his age didn't cry. He said he was remembering the first "enemy" he shot. He said he stood over him thinking I just killed a boy. And then realizing he was the same age.Could have been him.
These are the memories we give our sons to remember their whole lives.
Now womens lib says we can join them. Gee thanks.
I married out of high school. In 69 they did the numbers thing for draft. My new husband got a low number. I panicked. The thought I had was go to Nam and die. Lucky he ended up state side. I joined him in Colorado Springs and lived his life with him...Fort Carson. We lived with another couple. Guy had gotten out, Sargent..had been to Nam as door gunner. We talked lots. How he had been like my husband, calm, laid back. Came home ADHD like me. Said first gook he killed. Flew over..is he a maybe..yeah..could be..fly back and shoot him. Or could have just been a farmer in his field like back home. Why?
Husband drove me thought the old barracks. Word was these were the guys ETSing from Nam. Don't talk to them. Stay away.
Our friend here had been to Nam. Never talked til recently. Mechanics didn't fly with choppers. He admitted, door gunner.
My second husband lucked out too. OR tech, stateside. He told me about hanging guys on the wall in a bag, no legs, no arms.
Nam tore this country apart. Lessons should have been learned. Suppositions, lies, fear, money, power.
We came out of Nam to a different country. And didn't learn a blasted thing!

Smartest cats in the world?

My cat herd outside all started with one calico female. Now she has great great great grandkids. I call her puppy cat, because she acts more dog than cat. If two cats are fighting and I charge across the yard to break them up, she is racing with and ahead to do the same.
Yesterday I was on the deck with a couple of cats and her. The rest were along the loggia eating. Suddenly there was the cat explosion. 3 or so ran onto the deck. One smaller male pursued by the bull cat. I went between, KNOCK IT OFF! She of course, right there into the mix. The bull took off back to the loggia, she in pursuit. I stopped. She caught up to him and swatted him on the butt as he ran.
She is a police cat I guess. Makes sure they all stay in line. She hisses and chuffs all the time.
Yesterday I went on the roof to sweep and spray moss killer. Swept the two roofs that go onto the porch flat roof. I heard noise and there is another puppy cat, Dune. He came over and got petted. Watched me. Sat there til I had a row pile I was pushing to edge. I was kneeling using head of broom as brush. He came on right of me. Intentionally, stretched out, both front paws in front and slid pushed himself right into the pile of needles and leaves and pushed it forward. I laughed and said, so you are helping me clean?
I swear if I ever took the time to train,l I could have a Vegas act of cats.

I don't need touch anymore. But, have a wish to touch my guy. I look at nudes he sent me long ago and his body just cries out to be touched. No idea why I wish to so much. He was and still is an Adonis. Used to be into body building to a small degree.
The human body can be a work of art. Too bad age does us all in.
