Hey kiddo! Good for you! A few years back while sitting having coffee all of a sudden my mom looked at me and out of the clear blue said, " I've got a 21 year old mind stuck in an 85 year old body!" Pretty much says it all, I think. We can't do anything about the aging process other than attempt to hold it off and have one hell of a good time while its going on!
Hi back! Everyone has different things that attract them so I can understand the facial hair thing. The abbreviations; thats something else. Pretty standard in computerize...like lol. Just the person saving some typing. Especially if their a pick and scratch typist.
Why do you thing the "authority's " have the final say? What makes them more qualified to make the decision? Hell, they can't even balance a budget!! An interested party knows the person and their wishes; why can't be all it takes on a case by case basis! Of course the main problem you'd have to have a unbiased judge and look at each separate instance on its own merits.
Saw your post/answer and have to comment. My wife died of lung cancer last year. We/she fought for 3 1/2 years. At the end, hope was gone. There is no cure at this time. Luckily, she didn't suffer at the end and went quietly in her sleep. But, the doctors/hospice gave me control of the morphine for pain. And they indicated/suggested by their comments that I could give her what I thought was right to stop the pain so she wouldn't suffer. To me that's euthanasia without having the stones to come out and actively support it. I would like to think I would have helped her to end it but it still haunts me to this day.
Been in the situation. My dad fell down stairs. 5 skull fractures. Would never have come out of it as he was 85. Brain surgery and life as a vegetable or pull the plug. I'd talked to him before and he didn't want to live that way!(hypothetically) Same situation for myself, I'd rather somebody put me to sleep.
Only been on here for a couple of months but so far I've had a great time meeting /talking to different people from all over the world. I think the internet thing is great but it depends on your expectations. I have none so everything is a plus.!! Lots of really nice people to talk to and I've enjoyed every bit of it!
RE: Just got home - long recovery
Best wishes on a fast recovery!
