RE: Older kids moving back home?!

Its pretty amazing how they actually grow up to be adults!! Wasn't all that sure during the teenage years!

RE: Older kids moving back home?!

My daughter moved back in while working on her masters. Kind of nice to have the company! Didn't bother me a bit.

RE: Would you Date the person above you ? (previous post)

In a heartbeat!!

RE: Randomly Post the First Thing That Pops Into Your Head Thread

I'd rather be back in Crete than here!!

RE: n Heaven

My heart goes out to you and your niece's mom. Been there; done that. Lost my son 10 years ago just before his 21st birthday. There's nothing I can say that will make it better but it does get easier to accept with time.comfort comfort hug

RE: What's your job?...

Carpenter contractor here! Will work for ????rolling on the floor laughing

RE: got a lot to think about

Hey dude! Sorry you were disappointed on your meet. But before you give up put some more thought into this. Maybe she just plain got cold feet. It takes a lot of moxie to go somewhere to meet someone for the first time. Doesn't necessarily mean she's a scammer. People actually do get bad headaches, so maybe it was just coincidence. Don't know the entire situation with the two of you and I can understand your anger/disappointment, but give her the benefit of the doubt. Everyone gets at least one mistake forgiven.

RE: Would you Date the person above you ? (previous post)

Nope! Airliner is definitely not my type!!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: something I would like to know

I agree completely and try not to respond! Mostly, I've been sucessful. Too many nice people here to spoil it with venom.

RE: Post a rumor about the person above you Part 4

Ganja in the pipe explains the smile!!grin

RE: Post a rumor about the person above you Part 4

Relief catcher for the Chicago Cubs!

RE: something I would like to know

Personally, I really enjoy different opinions. Certain people can get my goat - especially political stuff like telling americans how to run their country. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but don't preach to me about our system. I don't criticize yours!

RE: something I would like to know

Yeah! I left and came back to the states!!! Its the most beautiful place I think I've ever been!

RE: something I would like to know

Hiya Claire! How's life treating you!!wine

RE: IF SOMEONE ACCUSES SOMEONE IN THE WRONG...

Seems kind of pointless to accuse someone of lying then refuse to say how they lied. If thats the case, write him/her off. Not worth the trouble to worry about their opinion

RE: WHY SHOULD MUSLIN MEN BE ALLOWED TO HAVE 4 WIVES AND STONE WOMEN TO DEATH FOR ADULTRY ? COME ON !

Not really sure that your right on that. Put a couple muslims on the jury which any good defense attorney would try to do. Changes the equation if stoning is acceptable behavior to them.

RE: What do you do on trips?

You got it! You just happened to hit one of the other things I really enjoy - photography!! I'll be able to bury you in pictures when I get back!! LOL!

RE: Movies..again!! Pumps you up!!

How about "The Ghost and the Darkness"
" The Shining"
"Phenomina"

RE: What do you do on trips?

I'm heading out on vacation tomorrow too! Off to Athens and Crete.
Plan on hiking the samarian gorge for sure and plan to get in some scuba diving!

RE: What's with love these days?

I think you hit it right on the head. Another generation. Seems to me everyone wants instant gratification. If it gets to be tough going, bail out. The older generation, and maybe I have to consider myself there or right at the cusp, worked at the relationship; they didn't give up. Religion, morals, everything at the time was groomed toward married life. All you have to do is look at the tube to see the change there. Hop in the sack and move on to the next! We've become a disposable society and marriage is just one more thing people dispose of.

RE: intellectuals' club

"the men like the young ones and don't want a woman who is smarter or has more education than they do"

Sorry, kiddo! Have to completely disagree. First off, I like women who I can relate to. In order for that to happen they need have experienced life a lot more than the younger gals. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with young women, but I don't see having a lot in common with them. We're at different points in our lives, if you know what I mean.
As for intelligence, I find it stimulating. Most of a relationship is sharing all the things you do. If you can't talk/discuss those things, seems to me it would get pretty boring in short order!

RE: intellectuals' club

" Smoke dope and philosophize all night" Who? (Boy, does that bring back memories!
But I think your right, we're constantly bombarded by advertisements for "things" as if owning them is the only way to be happy. People don't spend enough time using the grey matter! My god, half the kids can't do multiplication without a calculator!!
As far as this thread, take a look at how many people are on the site. Take a look at how many post! Lots of bashful people out there! I'm sure there are many people with high intellect that just don't feel compelled to post on the threads. ( And, with some of the anger/name calling I've seen on here, don't know that I blame them!)

RE: Are we trying to out spiritualize each other???

This is what I was afraid people would say!! I did not say they were wrong or didn't like them....what I said was there seems to be a lot of them all at once. It seems people are trying too push their ideology onto others.

I am glad people have their own religious convictions....but there are times they try too hard to compel others to join them. Some posts are so dogmatic, that the "love" they talk about is hidden by supression.

thumbs up That's why I try not to post on religious or political sites. Too often it ends up a squabble and name calling instead of an exchange of viewpoints. A lot of people can be really dogmatic about their beliefs - my way or the highway!!

RE: WHAT'S A SOUL ? AND HOW CAN WE REALLY BE SO SURE THAT SOULS EXIST OUTSIDE DEAD HUMAN BODIES ?

But is that just your belief or do you have a reason to believe in what you just said.

RE: WHAT'S A SOUL ? AND HOW CAN WE REALLY BE SO SURE THAT SOULS EXIST OUTSIDE DEAD HUMAN BODIES ?

Understand what your saying, but couldn't that also be explained by the diversity among humans? Some are artistic, some are deep thinkers, some are pragmatists. Each of us is unique. Maybe just because of the different influences during formative years - those are just as unique to each individual. Maybe soul/spirit is only a concept people have conceived to explain how they feel and act! What do you think?
