I think you're in the nicer country now though. England is one very rough country, you wouldn't dare let your kids walk home from school or go out alone at night it's way too dangerous.... I believe France is really gone to the dogs now too.... but mostly Paris (I believe, never been so I dunno really that's just what I've been told).
After being here a year I'm beginning to wonder have I been seeing people through rose tinted glasses all my life, because I do and I found/thought most others do too....then I started reading here...
Why? Because I'll decide what I'll write on here and what I won't...
I never said it was sound anything, so stop trying to put words in my mouth.
And save your stupid sarcasm for someone it'll work on...it doesn't have any effect on me at all..other than to make you look like a most distasteful character....
Jac, the world of research is very different to how you might visualise it...It's often a pompous supervisor whose whole raison d'etre is to find funding and makes their team's life a misery and in many cases turned it into a box ticking exercise. Great supervisors/P.I's are as rare as hen's teeth these days..
There's a phrase in research "publish or die"..and it doesn't matter what the quality of work is or how thorough it is , if the PhD's don't get published they're kicked to the kerb....and many even have to find their own funding...so they get sick and tired of it, the pressure and leave to go work in the private sector.....
So if that research team (I haven't watched the video) have used only 15 and come up with something of note then it's probably doing better than many many many others...not that that's the right way to do anything....
But this covid is very new and it's amazing what they've learned about it and even come up with a variety of vaccines so quickly...
Something doesn't have to be journal published to be good and worth serious attention...and what journals are you talking about, there are some really poor standard journals out there...Peer review is probably a more credible route to go but who's doing the reviewing though, I can assure you it's rarely someone who understands it as well as you would expect....
I'm afraid a certain margin of hit and miss is probably the best you're going to get right now given the seriousness of this pandemic...and us the people are going to have to accept that we're on the edge of being the guinea pigs..
How do you add a dimension to time? Never heard of that one before....And how do you use time to prove the wave/particle duality and the uncertainty principle. Because that's just a very simple mechanical method of showing wave-particle duality of light...
That's how it'll be for (hopefully) the majority, but that leaves quite a considerable minority who could end up in hospital...
and the numbers in hosipital aren't the problem.
I will try to make this as easy to read as possible....
OUR DOCTORS AND NURSES ARE ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED...
WE DONT HAVE A BOTTOMLESS PIT OF DOCTORS AND NURSES
DOCTORS AND NURSES ARE GETTING SICK THEMSELVES, BURNING OUT OR JUST SO WORKED TO THE BONE THEY ARE LEAVING
When are you people going to realise
IT'S NOT THE DISEASE THAT'S THE PROBLEM ,IT'S THE DWINDLING SUPPLY OF DOCTORS AND NURSES WHO CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THIS RELENTLESS EXPECTATIONS BEING PUT ON THEM DAY IN DAY OUT 24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK!
That's why you need to get the vaccination and respect the social distancing rules etc....because if you don't YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST,
You're 100% spot on Pilot and not misinformed. The worst affected are the very ones who're not vaccinated.
It's only a few decades since children were regularly affected by polio and it was an absolute scourge on society and families. These anti vaxers have no idea how lucky they are to live in such a safe world and would be the first in line if their child fell ill to TB or measles....or polio, Vaccinations have made them safe and by extension complacent, stupid and very very foolish...
Critiqued it? Where do you think you are? An art gallery? Among a group of same subject PhD's who're discussing your thesis? You're not. It's just a dating site forum where a mix of all sorts throw in their tuppence worth..that's all.....
But that's the thing, you didn't write anything of any substance, just a lot ....an awful lot...of hot air and empty waffle.
I know lol.....although I imagine it'd be just you and me on it Fantaziya...
I never really took photos of my plants or garden (regret that now) but I think I might have one somewhere but God knows where so it might take me a while to find it..
That sounds like great fun, a nice hike (must be stunning scenery there) and coming home with a lovely bounty as well, sure you couldn't buy that kind of pleasure.
Yeh, that's what my son told me about the apple tree. When he was 12 years of age. He was the real gardener in our house and was famous around the area for his ability and knowledge, I'm just an amateur in comparison...Anyway, the tree is flourishing but we left the apple trees for the birds as we had a huge cherry tree and a gazillion berries shrubs to eat from so the apples, nice as they were, were ignored lol....
I'm not sure I experience any one emotion on a daily basis or one to get worked up about stuff...so I guess "calm" is my most common state ....if that's even an emotion...
Put me in front of a pair of "to die" for shoes though and that's when you see me go through the full spectrum of emotions
Seems someone's life has very little value to some people these days..they're nothing more than a number on a list or a statistic on a spreadsheet.. tis very sad..
No, I've no idea Fantaziya, It's a climber with clusters of deep red almost purple flowers and it only flowers once in summer. I've asked loads of very experienced gardeners if they recognise it but nope, not one....so I gave lots of cuttings to neighbours and various gardens and community gardens so it didn't die and dissapear..
I found a really old apple tree in full fruit at a differnt famine cottage once when out on a hike years ago. The tree looked its age it was so gnarly but they have to be the nicest apples I've ever tasted... My eldest son was only a child then but has amazing green fingers. He planted it and now it's thriving ..sadly I had to leave it behind when moving but saved some seeds..so fingers crossed I can find somewhere to plant them..
No lol, I don't know either Secret, I just remember seeing a documentary on wild cats years ago and hearing the speeds they could run at....twasn't that fast really,,,,but can't remember how fast...
I guess that's why 8 out of 10 cats eat kittycat (advert on Irish tv years ago)
Yeh, NYD dinner and fireworks display in the garden afterwards....or so I'm told anyway. I'm not one to get too stressed about stuff like this and tend to let everyone else do the headless chicken stuff, but it;ll be good craic though......
