This site's hardly "leftist"? How you can say that is beyond me. It's minimally moderated, has an eccletic mix of people who bring their vastly different beliefs, politics, opinions, background, nationality and religions. A rarity these days. and for reason you probably don't want to hear about it's actually closer to being a more normal social environment than those echo chambers people seem to levitate towards...
There's a book called the doomsday book, written in the sixties, and the author goes through all the things that are damaging the planet.. He gives an account of all the chemicals, pesticides and other things we're polluting the planet with. I know my description probably sounds boring but it's actually a really interesting read (still have it too , as I knew i'd want to go back to it when I got older just to compare his facts and figures with today's. And I do)

I read it when I was very young (and innocent) so had to look up the meaning of his suggestion in the dictionary ( but still didn't understand what it meant) But when I got older I did understand. And it was a good suggestion too...
Ah you're lucky they live near you Happy, if I were to be a grandmother I'd want that too. Far too many grandchildren are being raised with no grandparents around them at all and that's awfully sad for them..
You did your job with dignity and grace, our childhood was a happy place. I see your character in my children's actions, and hear your humour in their laughter. They have your calmness that I love to sit with. It's your integrity and strength they're changing the world with. If only I could relive those moments, when you were teaching me maths and how to mend, I'd put down your tools tell you I love you, and give you a hug that would never end..
RE: Any happy people here in the forums ??
Aye, one whiff of you and they're swooning all over the place after you
