I don't know enough about the details and what the US "left" and "right" did or didn't do , so none of that makes much sense to me..sorry Grandsiozzie...
I'm not sure the American contingent on the CS forum would be considered a representative sample of the US's 180million registered voters in that study.
Of course. Some of the greatest advances we've made as a species have come out of division, dissagreement and the following necessity to negotiate and co-operate...
Sometimes the best compromises come from the greatest division, but only if both sides know how to be respectful towards the other side, know that it's important to give a fair hearing and actually listen to what's being said with the hope of finding common ground.
That's why very focused groups/"same" thinkers sticking to their own (for want of a better phrase) are a bad idea.they only serve to feed the same ideas and beliefs . Throwing totally opposing ideas into the same room has the potential to be far more productive and beneficial..
What was the point of it? Trying to make it personal. One minute you're talkking about governments and the next you're throwing in a nasty little personal comment. about me...
If I've read that correctly then that make for a shocking read. To think that there are actually men and women in the US government who would stand in the way of ordinary tenants keeping the roof over their heads is disgraceful.
180 million registered voters (out of what is it? something like 350 million). Cross referenced and weighted them too.? .That's a pretty in-depth study.
If only it were just a political divide. Add to that racial divide, the social divide, the income divide, the religious divide, all the little divides within the bigger divides...the list is endless... then they go online and spend their evenings online calling each other names. How they're not exhuasted and battle weary is beyond me...It's no wonder they're all on some sort of medication and can't be civil, everyone everywhere is some sort of enemy.
Ah give it a rest would ya...This non stop personalised rubbish you go on with and the constant attempts to insult people is just so childish and tediously boring at this stage.
You do realise don't you that it's only fools who see that as being smart..or "getting one over" someone...
Why don't you take your oh so wise words and try living somewhere like Johannesburg to see for yourself how that total absence of FREE social services (MONEY) thing works out over the long term??
You'll want out of there so fast you'll leave skid marks behind you...
People like you who go online and talk utter and absolute BS about stuff like this without any sort of understanding of how society works and what makes the best kind of society to live in should be made to experience that which they want to inflict on others , see how you like a good dose of your own medicine...
Funnily enough, now that I think about what you've written. I believe you've actually managed to hit the nail on the head and describe your country in the most accurate and succinct manner I've ever read...
The police, doctors and president are to blame for huge numbers of deaths and violence in your country if not personally then indirectly via their words, actions and beliefs etc...
I'd leave out the firemen though, they genuinely do risk their lives for others with absolutely no personal gain or benefit...unless of course you'd like to tell us otherwise?
RE: A Country Divided?
The so called "good food" isn't much better either.
