RE: feelins do you trust tem?

That's such a shame Galrads....but why do you let total strangers affect your humanity in such a profound way?

Not criticising you btw, just wondering, that's all...

RE: feelins do you trust tem?

Totally...

RE: In this big universe how intelligent are humans?

if we can detect a nutrino flying through a tank of water hundreds of feet beneath our feet we can detect an alien life form...walking among us...even our own instincts (if not our eyes, ears , sense of smell etc) would tell us this wasnt human....because even if there was another life form there is absolutely no way it would look, sound, smell as we do.....hell...even dogs who've evolved on earth and are a different species are toally different to us...so there's no way we woudn't recognise a life from a different part of the universe walking among us...

RE: In this big universe how intelligent are humans?

This is where (e.g) dogs would come into their own. They have empathy levels and sense of smell that's far far superior to our own...nwo couple that with all the sensing technology we have all over the place, if there was some sort of life form "levitating" (to use your word) around us we'd know about it.....

RE: In this big universe how intelligent are humans?

roll eyes

RE: In this big universe how intelligent are humans?

Javisst wasnt bveing arrogant...he was just taling about alien life and how intelligent he thinks they'd be...(no more intelligent than an insect).....so why are you making such nasty commetns about him personally....??

if anything says "lacks intelligence" it's your behaviour Galrads....

RE: In this big universe how intelligent are humans?

We aren't here by design, we're here by accident....and not just one accident, a whole series of accidents and co-incidences that had to have occured over billions of years and if one single of those events hadnt' occured then we wouldnt be here.......e.g. if apes hadn't evolved on earth we wouldnt' be here. If the timeframe between iceages were just a few thousand years shorter we wouldn't be here, if the very first forms of life didn't evolve the ability to swim whilst simultaneously able to traverse dry land we wouldn't be heree...

Now take those events and apply them to every single mutation, evolution, climate condtion etc etc and you end up with trillions of "events" that absoulutely had to happen for us to get here....the odds are so remote it pretty much precludes there being other life in the universe that's as adavanced as we are...

Yes there may well be microbial life or slightly more advanced lifeforms on other planets ,.but given the set of complete and utter accidents that had to happen for us to become humans (not forgetting the overall climate changes and timeframes between the peaks and troughs of said climate) then it becomes more and more difficult to see how other life forms could have evolved as we did....to the same level of intellect as we have...

personally I can't see a way, which is why i think all these wars are so tragic. There is just a mere 8 billion of us in the universe and one half are trying to obliterate the other half...I wish there was a more advanced alien race...a visit from them would soon unite us....

RE: Will the impending food crisis push more and more hungry people into Europe?

Emm not entirely sure why you think that Chesney because if you have food and can feed yourself you don't need money...on the other side, if you have money but no food then you have no choice but buy the food from those who do have it...you can't eat money...and if they say no then you're in trouble....

(you = a country)

RE: Will the impending food crisis push more and more hungry people into Europe?

While us in the west were throwing out food there were serious food shortages and as a result food protests and riots in many countries around the world..

Going back about ten years I can still remember a summer where there (simultaneously) seven cities around the world experiencing food riots (related to the price of wheat, which was soaring)..yet there wasnt a single word said about them on western news...

RE: Will the impending food crisis push more and more hungry people into Europe?

What few in the west realise..is that the east has control over the world's commodities..the west doesn't......all it has is thuggery and money...and they dont feed the people...

So if the west keeps going the way it's going with Putin/China/the east then you can be sure europe is going to see shortages the likes of which it hasn't seen since ww2...

RE: British IQ is dropping amongst children,

It's not just british..it's across the whole western hemisphere..as researched by the OECD for at least ten years by now...

children are failing basic level exams that years previous children had no problem with....

Problem is down to parenting and teachers....and not allowing children to be children . Their every move is monitored..indoors...theyy cant' go outside, run around, be adventerous, and just play, a crucial crucial component of social development, intellectual development, problem solving developent etc.

Modern day BS is suffocating our children and it's one subject I do get very angry about becuase it's all adults who're doing it to the children..so called experts like teachers etc....demanding hours up on hours of homework be done...always onto the children to "behave" "stand still" "be quiet" "do as your told"..and then they expect the same children to become scientists, engineers , entrepreneurs and to think for themselves....it's utterly sick and so twisted how some adults think when it comes to what's right for children...

oops....bit of a soapbox rant there lol....doh roll eyes

RE: Going Home - What is Home?

RE: “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people wil

Nope, I wouldn't break up with someone over something so petty I'd have it forgotten, I can still remember why I broke up with the boy from next door at age nine...or more accurately ran screaming out of the shed....laugh

RE: I wish I had a dog.

That's more a painful burden than a gift if they weren't nice to you...hug

RE: Is it fair to pursue a relationship abroad, if you have no intention of moving there?

Neither money or time, would make any difference if one wasn't prepared to relocate.

RE: Is it fair to pursue a relationship abroad, if you have no intention of moving there?

RE: Which expectations are realistic for your next relationship, after turning 55?

At this stage I don't know if I'll be in another relationship, but if I were then it'd only be with someone who's decent, kind, good humoured and capable of emotional connection. the latter is probably the most important for me and always has been.

RE: Mothers day...

RE: My Norwegian Dating Life, parte uno

Aww Grand hug ..but sure don't let that deter you. If she said that to you in person and said it with a smile maybe you wouln't take it as rejection. Talking via the written word can get dangerous sometimes I've landed myself in a great big hole sometimes through being misread.....so maybe ask her something about herself....see if her replies are a bit more postive...ya know what they say."faint heart never won fair lady"..wine
