I just looked at recent stats regarding COVID19 in Mexico and Canada, ironically, less than 3 weeks after Mexico recorded its first case, staff from the IMSS hospital protested, demanding medical supplies, and PPE's. The shortages were extreme with no proper training and nurses and doctors were getting sick. Most of the citizens at this point in time are still not well protected and their medical system is horrible except a few main facilities. The population in Mexico is about 129, 286,000. They have 748,315 cases... 78,078 deaths.
On the other hand, Canada in almost every location ( except indigenous districts ) for the last few months have had good medical supplies, expert training and staff, and enough ventilators. Also a fair amount of masks for the public and other essentials. The population in Canada is much smaller about 37, 000, 000 which is also a much larger country from ocean to ocean. 162,376 cases... 9402 deaths. They have been in basically in lockdown and isolation.
Today on October 2, two areas in Canada are surging with about 1000 new cases per day and possibly getting worse, Almost all patients arriving at Triage were wearing masks for the last few months and adhering to all regulations. Mexico on the other hand has a +3% increase in new cases and a +4% drop in deaths.
noticeable factors:
Larger cities have more new cases and deaths.
Wearing or not wearing a mask has no significant benefits or differences in getting infected and will not guarantee you won't get sick.
There are also other methods of transmission at this point and with COVID19 mutations it's clear the virus may be altered from day 1 when it was released in Wuhan.

My friend had a retired King G Shep police dog who was accidentally shot while in the bush needing us to carry him for miles to the nearest town... a local Sheriff finally rushed him to a vet and he survived.
