RE: Hey....you guys.....go check out Omur's thread in the main forums

i didn't mean on that thread- i understand why some were getting pretty peeved, but i guess they don't know him well enough there, and were rising to the bait, thinking he was serious?

RE: Hey....you guys.....go check out Omur's thread in the main forums

RE: Make me burst out laughing!

I thnk you are talking about SAD- seasonal affective disorder- many people especially in the winter months get low and down, even depressed. studies have showed links to SAD- when there are insuficient daylight hours. there are light boxes available that you sit in front of for a set time each day, which give off the right spectrum of light. the other solution is to make sure you get out in the daylight hours- even if just for 20 mins- with as much skin exposed as is possible given our lovely climate!!!- your body absorbs the vitD through your exposed skin. think i could do with some of that myself!!!

Emigre- i'd say when you parents both died (comfort ) you had a 'situational' depression- ie, there was something concrete you could 'blame' for how you were feeling. Others sometimes get depresion that can't be linked to any specific reason- i guess therapy may bring something out that they didn't even realise was bothering them.
depression can be a crippling emotion- i have suffered situational depression many years ago- it is hard because there is a simple way to resolve it( ie, get out of that situation) but when you are feeling below par, it is hard to motivate yourself, and it becomes a vicious circle. Luckily i got myself out of it and moved on.

hug to your friend- lucky they have you there.:)

RE: Hello And Thank You For Calling......

I take no offence from the joke.. I'd venture that all of us here have at some time, been either afflicted or afected by at least one of these conditions, so the best thing i can see is to laugh at them all!! otherwise we'd be able to laugh at nothing

RE: advice needed

I agree with Walle( sure he meant to say CAN'T call the police too often?)

I do , think, however, if you have any notion that he would actually do any of the things he threatened, then I wuld cnsider getting the hell out of dodge!!. your safety is paramount. And isn't spitting n someone considered assault??comfort

RE: If you could, would you??

Hey

Dont even start me off with untaken chances!! And yes im in love with my best friend (female!!) and have been for a long time. I just keep asking myself wether its worth risking/ruining the friendship. That and im a big chicken and dont want to get hurt

Can anybody tell me if its worth the risk??

I have to say- Go for it!! if not, you will always wonder what if, ?and be on a website in 20 years answering this ?? that LL daughter has posted on a chat site!!
I know there is the risk of losing the friendship- but it may also bring about the woman of your dreams. Hopefully, if she doesn't feel the same, she will still be your friend.

Welcome
grin

RE: If you could, would you??

Am I odd in not having anyone from my past that i wouldn't be happy to meet again and get a coffee/beer with?

Never had that bad a feeling for any of themdunno ?? Now what they would say about me, I can't vouch forlaugh

RE: If you could, would you??

did you 'google' him

RE: If you could, would you??

Nah- the ex reminds me almost daily why i asked him to leave- drives me nuts!!- still treats this house like he lives here and comes in and out when he pleasesroll eyes
most other exes live 100's miles away- I have thought what it would be like if i'd stayed, but then I take off the rose tinted glasses and remember the reasons I left them and realise it was the right thing!
