oh they are way ahead of you MrW- there's a 9 and 10 y/o as well and they have been known to appear downstairs at 11pm, with every item of clothing they own stuffed into their jammies( like sumo wrestlers,) with my underwear over the top- and sometimes on their heads. Life's not dull anyway LOL

RE: nationality

exactly why i got my kids USA passports as soon as possible- only one was born in the Us but all are entitled as their father was born there. the point is that rules change all the time- and i fear thet they may say inyears to come- just because your father was born here ( chance of birth- both his irish parents were only there fr education opportunity)- doesn'tmean that the law won't change on that. it's a bit like nepotism- we take the opportunities for our children that will be advantageous for them= that's parents for you. not being oppositional, just telling it lke it is for mewave

RE: nationality

oh well said- i, personally, have always had nothing but respect for Ireland and the people in it, and feel sad that anyone should feel differently about me for something my ancestors did. I am my own person, and responsible for only my own actions.

In regards to the OP- my family is a total mix of nations- I am Scottish- the kids father is Us born but Irish- my kids are born in ,,1.USA, 2. Scotland 3. Ireland- but all are entitled to US, Irish and UK passports. will I take all of those?? If it is to their advantage, then yes- I will always do what is best for my kids and their future

RE: nationality

didn't you say your grandmother was born here?? how is anyone irish if being born there doesn't make you irish?? surely your gmother is one of yur ancestorsdunno man i'm really confused now ( as usual)laugh
