oh they are way ahead of you MrW- there's a 9 and 10 y/o as well and they have been known to appear downstairs at 11pm, with every item of clothing they own stuffed into their jammies( like sumo wrestlers,) with my underwear over the top- and sometimes on their heads. Life's not dull anyway LOL
still recovering form son #3's birthday party on Tuesday-
400 maurauding 7 year olds tearing up the house( well there may have been only about 18 but it seemed like 400 )screaming etc.. If i ever mention the word 'party' here again, you all have my full permission to come down and tie me up!!
oh god- me too- just open my mouth and let my stomach rumble - would love to say it won't happen again but that would add lying to my (some would say long) list of faults
exactly why i got my kids USA passports as soon as possible- only one was born in the Us but all are entitled as their father was born there. the point is that rules change all the time- and i fear thet they may say inyears to come- just because your father was born here ( chance of birth- both his irish parents were only there fr education opportunity)- doesn'tmean that the law won't change on that. it's a bit like nepotism- we take the opportunities for our children that will be advantageous for them= that's parents for you. not being oppositional, just telling it lke it is for me
oh well said- i, personally, have always had nothing but respect for Ireland and the people in it, and feel sad that anyone should feel differently about me for something my ancestors did. I am my own person, and responsible for only my own actions.
In regards to the OP- my family is a total mix of nations- I am Scottish- the kids father is Us born but Irish- my kids are born in ,,1.USA, 2. Scotland 3. Ireland- but all are entitled to US, Irish and UK passports. will I take all of those?? If it is to their advantage, then yes- I will always do what is best for my kids and their future
didn't you say your grandmother was born here?? how is anyone irish if being born there doesn't make you irish?? surely your gmother is one of yur ancestors man i'm really confused now ( as usual)
agnostic here- but i always was told catholic was left footer, but me being a (sorta ex) dirty prod, gets told I'M the left footer- no wonder we're confused!!
RE: a 69 or a 99? - which is better?!!
you have taught us well LL
