Yes that’s my regret about him that I didn’t have him chipped. I had taught him to kiss me and a bunch of other things since I had him from he was a kitten. When he went disappeared I was quite upset.
I’m pretty sure he was stolen not run over. To make a cat change house ya have to keep it indoors for two full weeks then if ya let it out it will come home to you. I fully believe someone stole him because he was just to pretty.
I would give the hot temperature a try also. I’ve lived in hongkong for two months at a time in their winter which is as hot as our summer but lasts longer. Not sure I would last in their summer tho lol I get homesick after a while.
