Although not religious at all, still love Xmas and have done so since got a taste of it. Love Xmas with the same zest like a little child would love it. Love the vibes and smiles . All the glitz and the traditions that goes with Xmas. Yes the commercial aspect is bit too much now. It has taken away the true value of Xmas. And this has happened in the last 30 years or so. Before that it was great when everything was closed for a week or more till the new year. Xmas is just one of the festival. But all over the world there are so many festivals. Love Diwali, Vaissakhi, kite flying festival, holi, Eid , Chinese New Year, Jewish new year.etc Without all theses festival and celebrations our lives will be so mundane . Everyday will be feel same.
Of course Xmas this year is very different bearing in mind all the sadness due to Covid.
So stay safe, and have a wonderful Xmas. Merry Xmas to all .
Captain’s log.. Past midnight and in bed and writing this note . Read a bit of CS and I shall close the windows of my eyes to sleep and hope for pleasant dreams.
Guess out of all the options I use YouTube more but only to listen to music. Even with music prefer other mediums because with you tube I end up looking at the screen to watch the video. I just prefer listening radio etc is better . Have Twitter for occasional tweet. No other social platform besides CS. Never even tried any of the others.
An educated man asks a boatman to ferry him across to the other side of the island. During this small journey, educated man asks the boatman numerous questions and boatman fails to answer any of them. The boatman unlike his passenger had very little knowledge about most things. The educated man calls this humble boatman completely ignorant and stupid. As the boat reached halfway, it hit a big piece of metal floating in the sea and punctured a hole in the boat. As the water started to fill the boat, Boatman tells his passenger that boat is about to sink and they will have to swim to the shore. At this point the Educated man felt very stupid and insignificant and tells the boatman that he cannot swim. The boatman manages to take the boat as close to the shore as possible before the boat sinks completely. And boatman being an expert swimmer, manages to swim to the shore while carrying the educated man with him. Both of them survive this ordeal.
Moral of the story, never belittle anybody...! As the saying goes, what goes around, comes around. !
Trekking , rock climbing probably I would go for . I prefer to do these as I think I will have fun while I am attempting these activities. Marathon etc are ok but may not be as much fun for me.
Read a report that less covid deaths In some countries is probably due to early exposure to all the filth and dirty living conditions. Their immune system is potentially better for this reason.
