Cherry picking comments to get one's point across as usual

Rishi Sunak used Kia borrowed from Sainsbury’s worker for petrol PR shot instead of his government Jaguar
The Chancellor used the red Kia owned to pose for the photo – but paid for the petrol out of his own pocket.

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

Actually it was to bring attention to petrol prices going down.

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

Well at least he accepts his heritage unlike Trump who denied he was of German heritage.saying they originated from Sweden.

Quote" For decades, Trump denied this German heritage altogether, instead claiming that his grandfather’s roots lay further north, in Scandinavia. “ came here from Sweden as a child,” Trump asserted in his co-written book The Art of the Deal. In fact, his cousin and family historian John Walter told The New York Times, Trump maintained the ruse at the request of his own realtor father, Fred Trump, who had obfuscated his German ancestry to avoid upsetting Jewish friends and clients. “After the war,” Walter told the Times, “he’s still Swedish. [The lie] was just going, going, going.Trump is the son, and grandson, of immigrants: German on his father’s side, and Scottish on his mother’s. None of his grandparents, and only one of his parents, was born in the United States or spoke English as their mother tongue." Unquote

Sunak was born in Southampton to parents of Indian descent who migrated to Britain from East Africa in the 1960s.

Bear in mind that India had millions of displaced people due to the Partition under under British rule .sigh

True unfortunately and not just Tories.

The media and good old YouTube ,Twitter etc etc and even good old C.S.are so good at hanging people out to dry prior to the dirty washing .laugh

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

As Chancellor when Covid hit us he was the one who sorted out furlough payments

Did I misread your comment below on my thread when I announced his new position or was there a note of sarcasm.dunno:

"Well, I bet on him some time ago.
It was going to be more exciting if he wasn't born in the UK though.
But then again immigrant's kids can be very, very native to their new found mother land.
And sometimes it can be a good thing.
Congratulations!"

Can you imagine walking in to No .10 after the debacle over the past 5 weeks and trying to repair the damage ? He has to try to rebuild confidence in the Tories ,remould a Cabinet and try to get the country back on it's feet. No mean feat for ANY politician as well you know from your own country.

Cleaning up other people's gaffes is never going to be easy but at the least people should give him the chance instead of jumping on the band wagon and calling him out within 24 hours of his appointment don't you think.

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

Seems to me that the knives were out even before he'd set foot in No.10.

Decrying a person because of their culture ,wealth and colour says more about the poster than it does about Rishi Sunak. sigh

RE: Failure of the Covid Narrative

In America the belief in Covid probably depends on whether you are right wing or left wing politically.grin

Hello you, hug

What country isn't facing dramas at the moment. We just happen to be in the limelight at the moment.grin

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

No worries Cossack, just a play on words and a British sense of humour. We are not the only country with problems that's for sure.

I noticed your comments on our late Queen. Respect to you for that.handshake

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

He doesn't need a mandate as the Tories were voted in at the last election ,not Labour.

Blimey and there was me thinking you were all for Bojo. You sure switch sides quickly.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

U.S. After less than 2 years in office I wonder how Joe's rating score is doing. grin

RE: Rishi Sunak the most unpopularPrime Minister

A General election determines the Party you choose not the Prime Minister. You vote for whomever represents your constituency so it would depend if the body of the country turned to the Labour party .

Nothing is guaranteed and at the moment we need some stability not a major upheaval. Just wait to see what happens after the Chancellor makes his statement on 31st. October ,it could be a bit scary,no pun intended.grin

RE: Fruitful conversation vs Useless argument

Just check the emojis used ,that should give you a good idea as to which way it's going.grin

Is Liz Truss about to resign??????
