Seems it's confirmed.Boris has dropped out . He had very little support and knew he would have to strike a deal with Sunak or Mordant and neither would support him. All mouth and trousers as usual.
No surprise there to be honest. Sunak has hit the 150 mark.
In contrast, Johnson had still not even formally declared he was running by Sunday evening. He had just 60 publicly revealed supporters, despite the claims of his allies to have reached the threshold of 100 Tory MPs needed.
Wonder what will happen if we have an impasse with the voting to replace Liz Truss.
According to Sky News, Mr Sunak has 136 MPs who have publicly backed him, Mr Johnson, 57, and Penny Mordaunt, 24.
Johnson was kicked out for a reason,In fact several by all accounts. but mainly that there were serious questions about competence, credibility, and ethics. Do we really want to go back to that???
I'm hoping that if we end up with a 2 horse race and Penny Mordant is dropped she will give her support to Sunak.
If Johnson makes it through it will be absolute chaos in Parliament with many M.P.s again walking out. We the voters do not need any more of this circus as many people in this country are really struggling.
If he gets back in he will totally fragment the Tory Party and further strengthening Labour's position. We haven't heard the last of Partygate as yet where he stood up and lied to Parliament ,and he will be a total economic disaster and further weaken and destabilise our finances.
You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. Or should we replace please to fool?
Which way will this go is anyone's guess but someone needs to take the reins and actually work for the benefit of the people.
Rishi Sunak passes the 100 mark for votes with Boho Boris trailing at 50 and Penny Mordant on 30.
It's food for thought when a former Bank of England deputy governor warns that Mr Johnson’s return to No 10 could worry financial markets, with even the possibility of another Johnson premiership sending borrowing costs rising.
True Serene as we had the same here. In writing my response I was talking about the general public to be honest and had forgotten the work ethics and the problems it caused.
Is Liz Truss about to resign??????
Has BoJo has lost his MoJo ? No just a bad loser.
