Think about the word "impressionism" It means outside and painting on the spot as so many were ,so when dealing with oils there is no way you can rub out and correct .

Somewhere I always wanted to go to but never got round to Helene. I have visited the Louvre but not quite the same as the artists's private home .

Absolutely Gal. Apparently he was a stickler for detail. Hope you go to the exhibition as I'm sure it will be a wonderful event with much for the eye to absorb.

I haven't got any exclusive art work obviously but I do like to have artwork in my home. I've got a lovely Bahner print of Venice which I love.

That was a brilliant etching done on copper .



This has to be one of my favourite Rembrandt . Notice the dog bottom right barking at the drummer . Such attention to detail.

Rembrandt was not an Impressionist painter as he's from the 17th Century. so doubt he'll be exhibited.

Gals might just see this one though and it's by an Italian impressionist Silvestro Lega.

Monet was the "founder " of Impressionism as he planted all the lilies and once grown he painted them.

He did paint people as can be seen in this painting and has done paintings of his wife and children as also seen below.

They got rid of it in Ghana last August and it's reared it's ugly head again.

You will be amazed at the works of these artists.

Claude Monet's works are inspirational and mostly painted from his garden in Giverny which was like a giant oil painting in itself.

Many of Renoir's were actually personal and were paintings of groups of friends in side cafes and boating parties.

Do go Galrads as it will be an eye opener of extraordinary talent.
