Hi kizzy, yes, it's been a roller coaster of a 6mth period with Mother Nature! Just caught up on the latest details on the neighbour's TV. The reporter mentioned how people did not panic. The Japanese are so mentally prepared for such things. Still, it's so unfair. Too many innocents involved. Pity nothing happens to the likes of Gaddafi!
Seismologists predict a major earthquake for Adelaide this year. Part of the city sits directly on fault lines (Good one, Colonel Light ) including my parents' home and where I live. We've had various levels of quakes over the years, and as recently as late last year. Everyone seemed to have felt it except me. I live on a busy main road. I wasn't able to tell the difference!
I went for a long walk in the countryside early this morning, a glorious, cool but sunshine filled beginning of the day. Chirping of birds accompanied my every step and inbetween. Then met a few local doggies followed closely by their owner who was desperately trying to restrain their excitedness.
On my way back, she invited me in for a coffee and was shown through her home, saw the chooks, and enormous bunnies bred for din-dins. It felt as if I'd somehow been transported into a Tolkien-esque type story....
You will be most welcome, kizzy. A real other world side of life. Just heaven. (now that I've sorted out the chill factor stuff! ) Summer time in these parts becomes one big partying community. Can't wait.
Gorgeous sunny spring day today, at last!... Lotsa and lotsa walking, fresh air, nice food(I cooked it!, very nice red vino (neighbours' home brew), lotsa, some study
I don't know you from Adam, and frankly, with respect, I don't think I wish to. But permit me to say that, from the quality of your posts, there is no way in Hades that you could ever measure up to the kind of love and devotion that I know MBR shows his lovely lady, who is for now, a long way away from him.
Currently a German built car, solid and powerful, but is a later model with a large engine which guzzles petrol. So the next one I might well be turning Japanese, thinking Toyota.
'Man' has always had the desire and drive to explore beyond their own backyard, some more than others - even when they thought the earth was flat and if you travelled far enough, you might fall off the edge...It still didn't stop the most driven of them all.
It's been years since I read any sci-fi, mainly because I found the plots boring. I will look for Robert Heinlein though, given your high recommendation, and have passed it onto the writing forum I'm on. Thanks.
