I think it's a failed idea that all youth growing up will be so damn interested in "saving the planet" all the time. It's a leftist agenda, but I think they will fail in the end. I hope nuclear will come in, but solar is also ok (maybe). No wind turbines please.

There is a value just in dreaming happy dreams, so even if some $ get lost that you can afford to lose, well maybe the hopes it gave was worth it. Some can earn money, and I do not rule out that funds can be better than singular stocks but all three folks I know who tried to earn in the stock market lost doe. My brother, my father and my uncle. Last one lives in Boston and is well off on property.

Yes. I even lived in my car a few months before I bought my first apartment. You can call that simple. I found a sleeping bag was comfy as long as it was above fridge temp.
A cabin is for sale with view to mount Etna for 40k $. No el, but there is your own well, and a nice paved terrace. A steep hill up there require a 4x4, but the view is amazing.
