Yes. Well, prior to the Revolutionary War, we weren't Americans but "subjects" of the Crown. The Declaration of Independence was the beginning of when we broke off from them.
Now it is my turn to ask you... what is "staunch kai?" All I can find is that kai is traditional Maori food? Is is also an expression for something else?
The British. The Revolutionary War was fought to break away from them.
Love New Zealand, by the way! Very friendly people. Even if many don't care of America as a whole, the people there are very fun and welcoming. And we wish we could have your immigration policies, which are smart and simple. Sadly, if we tried them here, people would scream like banshees.
What can I say? As a proud Daughter of the Revolution, our family tree is loaded with American history dating all the way back to the beginning. We've got everything from Blue Bloods to Rednecks to one US president and many ancestors who spilled their blood for this great country. None of us could give a Tinker's Damn about what our former relatives across the pond have to say about our culture. After all, we fought and died to get away from them.
I wasn't fishing for compliments, but thank you just the same. I was referring to hanging out at Mar-A-Lago, which I'm sure you know is President Trump's club in Palm Beach. I know how much you like him.
You're very welcome. It is a favorite holiday here which is filled with friends and family and all sorts of celebrations. There is a tremendous amount of gratitude and a lot of good, old fashioned American Patriotism.
Except Rednecks have no tolerance for pretentious snobs. They would probably spray paint a bulls-eye on his tighty whities and use him for target practice.
It wouldn't surprise me. It's probably fine if you actually follow directions, but lots of people overdo it thinking it will work faster. All I know is the idea of drinking vinegar is a lot less appealing than just eating less.
I couldn't see it either. Everywhere I went during the election, all I saw were Trump signs and bumper stickers. None for Hillary and few few for Bernie. Too bad you could not have been here to attend one of his rallies! You would probably have loved that.
RE: The Declaration of Independence
Lucky you!!!
