Personally, I’d rather go abroad. It’s often the case that a week or 2 holiday abroad is often cheaper. A friend of mine flew to the south of France for under a fiver, which is less than a fair on the tube .
Popping to the coast for a day trip can be a long & tiresome experience in the heat, not to mention uncomfortable. If you’re luck enough to predict the week of summer we let in England & plan a week or so stay , then that’s a different story .
It’s pretty much a buzzing city all the year round , so anytime is a good time to visit , whereas Cyprus is great in the summer, it can get a little boring in the winter months, unless you have a “Greek mumma” to keep you entertained
Thessaloniki is a great city near Athens , although I wouldn’t head there in the height of summer . The locals head off to the islands during the hot season .
The Greek is a raw talent. If only he could be bothered to train & enter the odd tournament, he could reach the heights of other great Greeks like Pete Sampras & mark philipoussis.
What does the first hour of your day …
You can always sit on a quivering marrow if it’s excitement you’re after .
