RE: Do You Need to Hear an apology?

Depends. I don't really need to hear the words "I'm sorry" unless it was really hurtful. But seeing as how I am really blunt and all, I tend to apologize a lot myself.

If someone cannot accept an apology, then they really didn't want one to begin with.

Even State Troopers have a sense of humor :D

MONTANA STATE TROOPER

In most of the US there is a policy of checking on any stalled vehicle on the highway when temperatures drop to single digits or below. About 3a.m. one very cold morning, Montana State Trooper Allan Nixon #658 responded to a call there was a car off the shoulder of the road outside Great Falls, Montana. He located the car , stuck in deep snow and w/ the engine running. Pulling in behind the car w/ his emergency lights on, the trooper walked to the driver’s door to find an older man passed out behind the wheel w/ a nearly empty vodka bottle on the seat beside him. The driver came awake when the trooper tapped on the window. Seeing the rotating lights ion the his rearview mirror, and the state trooper standing next to his car, the man panicked. He ,jerked the gearshift into drive and hit the gas.

The car’s speedometer was showing 20-30-40 and then 50 mph, but it was still stuck in the snow, wheels spinning. Trooper Nixon, having a sense of humor, began running in place next to the speeding (but stationary) car. The driver was totally freaked, thinking the trooper was actually keeping up w/ him. This goes on for about 30 seconds, then the trooper yelled, “PULLOVER!”

The man nodded, turned his wheel and stopped the engine. Needless to say, the man from North Dakota was arrested and is probably still shaking his head over the state trooper in Montana who could run 50 miles per hour.

Who says troopers don’t have a sense of humor?

Who comfortable is everyone with discussing the "intament details" of love, life and all in public? I can be a little too blunt and loud, but those who are comfortable with it are okay with this. However I image that others my find it somewhat offensive and just wanted to hear everyone's opinion. conversing

Thanks, wave

I enjoyed the conversation. Thankyou, but need to get home and take the pup for a walk and wrestle with the cats.

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

smokingSo, what's the damage? grin

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

Can't have much of a big picture is there are no examples of good and evil. We had Mother Teresa and Princess Diana, and even the last Pope. They were the becon to the light, but now there are no good doing, selfless people being presented to us and the younger generation, instead we have Paris Hiltonhelp . Oh brother. We have turned into people who view who is good or evil by one's worldly posessions, not they actions.

A selfless act of someone close to us is what brings that into perspective. When we have these cheerleads and leaders in play, then the moral compus can be set and me can have a universal standard. conversing

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

scold Varies, not varied. We still hold certain people upon higher standards or morality then others. Universally this has been mothers, Clergeman/other members of the church, and certain levels of royalty/government. Even though we should look at them as human beings first, we are often pulled into seeing their position in life. Their title, or role that they play.

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

hmmhmmm Change is inevitable, we can not avoid it. What we need to do (speaking of amercans here) is settle down, breath and think about our actions and motives. Think about where we want to truely be in 10,20,30 years and then consider how to make it happen. We need to get connected and talk to one another, as well as listen. Then make a plan and act.

inactivity is our enemy; it is what allows "evil" in. If we become lazy and slugish then we allow the bad to seep into our lives. blues

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

Just had a thought. Something that occured to me. Good and evil reside in all of us. We chose which paths we would follow. Sometimes we pick a little from each side. But where would the line be drawn in the sand. How far to the left or right would be too far? Aside form the extremes, what would be truely evil/good? professor

RE: Most of the ways that Humans have ...

confused It's difficult to come to an aggreement about morality and good vs. evil. Everyone has their own personal definitions and such, which change over time and mutate or progress into something new.

Also, history is written by the victor. It is sometimes difficult to discover the other side of the story if no one has written about it. So many groups of people and religions have been destroyed by misunderstanding and changing times. Would you say their demise was a result of evil doings, or ignorince? Can ignorince be an argument for the evil doer having done harm?

Look at the many trials through the years where people have been held accountable for their actions and paid for such actions. Now look at how some people are able to pass responsablility off to someone higher up on the ladder. Even small stuff, like a students bad grades, are being pushed off as the fault and/of bad "doings" of another.

I believe that we are in a time where placing blame on another is acceptable and holding the position as the victum/innocent is a common tone amoung all people.

What do you do? recieving IM . . .

Is there a way of knowing who is IMing you before opening it, aside from getting an email? confused

RE: Should drugs, ALL drugs be available and free for anyone who wants them?.................

Potheads are less likely to put up a fight. Meth heads are more likely to steal, cheat and contract Hep C, because some use needles. There are several in my area that are my age and are dealing w/ Hep C right now. They have no clue as to how it can ruin your body and you mind. By the time they try to get off of it the damage is already done.

Some may think that pot kills brain cells, but Meth turns you into a walking corpse like those film reels about WWII, when the ally's took the concentration camps. Those people stumbling around, naked and stick skinny - that is what a methhead almost looks like. Only they are a little crazier looking.

What do you do? recieving IM . . .

I gues depending on the day, I will answer/accept and IM. However there are days I just don't want to chat with someone and will ignore it. Is this evil?

Probably not. The last few IMs I delt with were with a few men who had english as a second language. Which really doesn't matter much, but they would constantly correct themselves and so any flow that the conversation may have had was disrupted.

Maybe I was just having a bad day. But it really irritated me. frustrated blushing although I am sure it shouldn't have. wave

RE: Should drugs, ALL drugs be available and free for anyone who wants them?.................

There are some drugs that might get a bad reputation from all the publicity and such. They aren't as bad as some that I have seen. For example, pot vs. meth. Pot is a plant, and if they don't mess around with the darn stuff, it is fine. But meth is nothig but harmful chemicals and nasty stuff. It literally destroys a persons body and mind. Turns it into swiss cheese.

RE: LOL Noone in my area.

Yeah, I think we all have the same problem, though my old guys are also forgiendunno or from the forums, in which case I know they are just seeing who I am, nothing more.

And as for messaging people, just do it. I have recieved replies and have some really nice conversations with people that are just in it to chat and hang out. Which is perfect. You try to rush love, you get the yucky end of the stick.

RE: do you trust your pets opinion on your choices of dating material?

I would probably consider the "love" interests reaction to tell you teh truth. How are they w/ the dog? Do they completely freak out? If they do then it would be a long and miserable relationship, I mean my pets are important and I expect the guy to feel so as well. roll eyes

But not everyone is the same. wave
