you are expecting too much too soon. Taking your time is the best possible thing you should do. Relax, have fun, get to know some people and let them get to know you. There are a lot of really terrific people on here, it all just takes time.
I cannot speak for anyone but myself, a flower or an email from a stranger is not a confidence boost. There are a lot of people, both men and women who are looking for their soul mates, loves of their lives, someone to keep them sane.
sometimes letting go is the smartest thing to do. the timing wasn't right.
but, in the real world, 
yes I have, and he's a world away. Nothing but a sweet memory not one upset bone in my bod that it didn't work out. He's a wonderful man, and he deserves the best so 
that wouldn't have been me anyway.
