RE: Why men think their all that

Most things that men can do, women can do as well - if they have the confidence to learn and to try. Some things we cannot do - some things we can do better and somethings men can do better. our brains and bodies are designed differently for a variety of reasons. I don't understand the competition thing, or the insistence that one gender is better than the other. We are equal as humans...and that is what matters. My parents drove truck together for several years, and there are places and situations that mom was a better driver in than dad and viseversa.
Hey gordy; did that plane land yet?

RE: new year poem

You have talent kid,in my opinion. Because is art and literature, it always isn't about what it is about! Some people have a hard time understanding...and everyone is entitled to their opinions; however, not to cut down the humanity and essence of another being. JMO, but that is wrong. Keep up the writing! beer

RE: If someone wants to move in

Aww Loner, I am so sorry that things went wrong for you...so wrong. The only thing I can say as look at it as an experience; not all bad, not all good and one that left you with a hard lesson or two. Because of life's circumstances, you learned a hard lesson a little later in life than most, but no worries, there are plenty of us humans out here that keep making the same mistakes over and over ( sign of insanity, they say) Anyways, own it and learn for it and then put it away, if you know what I mean. There may be a woman out there who you are going to meet and it will be magical and real and you will want her to move in real quick, because in your heart you will know. Please don't let this experience ruin the opportunity for a great love....hug

RE: what king of woman/man do you want to marry

Hmmm, really? I am from SK, actually born in Regina - know a significant number of women from the area and they are not at all as you describe.
What kind of man do I want to marry? I am very sure I am with man I want to spend as much time with as we are given....but I don't feel the need to married..and I don't think I actually want to be married again. We don't need that to love one another with all of our heart or to be committed and faithful. angel

RE: Rally will protest province's funding cuts to the disabled (please help if you can)

I wish I could help...you know how I feel about this whole issue. It seems when budgets are being developed it is those most in need that are at the bottom of the priority list...and when cutting is to be done, it is those same people, with the lesser of provisions, that are targeted. Because I work primarily with adults with disabilities and I know of the challenges and barriers that are faced everyday; I find this kind of action to be very offensive and quite likely the biggest barrier of all. I am right beside you in spirit...hug

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

gingerbread
As we begin the celebrations of this blessed season...we should reflect upon our blessings and truly look around us and acknowledge all that we have in our lives.
Wow, think of all the changes that many of us have had since Christmas last year...the trial and tribulations, the joys and sadness, the love and the loss. But, we made it through!
I find myself so very time challenged, trying to do it all and realized today that I am not going to be able to bake those few more batches of cookies, nor am I going to have time to put up more decorations. And you know what? It's okay...because sharing the joy and love of the season with people who matter...that is what it is all about! (it is not the hokey pokey!)
So...to each and every one of you...Merry Merry Merry Christmas!!! May your days be full of wonder, love and joy! All the very best that life has to offer to all in the coming year! Stay safe, stay happy, blessed and warm. angel as we celebrate the birthday of Christ! reindeer cake

We are Canadian!!!...aren't we?

So, I'm just a bit confused by a recent Canadian event (ther's a surprise grin ) The 2010 Olympic games are opening in Vancouver in less than 80 days- give or take a few - and lo and behold, the downtown parking lot that was to become the CANADIAN PAVILION...is still a frigging parking lot! Except it was just announced that the design and rapid building of said pavilion has been entrusted to an AMERICAN company. confused Hmmm is it just me or is this somewhat, I don't know...wrongish? Thoughts folks...let's discuss. I have to run...looking for some summer tourism pamphlet design contracts for a few of the southern states...why not? wine

RE: what's wrong with people?why are relationships so hard to find?

I really don't think there is anything wrong with most people...there are some who are not ready for a relationship, but believe it is what will "complete" them or "make them happy"; in my opinion, it will be difficult for those to find and keep a strong, healthy relationship.
I believe some people really aren't looking for keeps...they are just dabbling; playing. Those that they dabble with end up hurt. I believe there are people who seek not a relationship, but an avenue by which they can seek revenge and control and give back the pain and hurt they have endured in the past - it makes them feel better about themselves.
There are people who have such high expectations...high ideals that no one will ever measure up to; self-fulfilling prophesies perhaps?
But most people, who take their time to heal and become a healthy whole, who take their time to know someone, who are truly honest about the kind of person they want and need...they will find and keep a relationship. Time...wine

RE: The Grey Cup 2009

It's the Grey Cup champs versus Rider Pride on Sunday afternoon in one of the most anticipated games in recent Canadian Football League history.

To help sort out the Western Conference final, we present a quick (tongue-in-cheek) rundown of what's at stake and how to separate the clubs.

Teams: Calgary Stampeders (10-7-1, plus one playoff victory) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (10-7-1).

Kickoff: 2:30 p.m. MST, 4:30 p.m. ET.

Location: Regina, Saskatchewan's Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field (real Rider fans would not be caught dead calling it anything but Taylor Field).

Who was this guy Taylor?: Neil (Piffles) Taylor was a Great War fighter pilot who lost an eye when shot down in action. He came back to Regina and kept playing football anyway.

So the story goes, Piffles had his glass eye knocked out during a game and proceedings halted while everyone looked for it. They grow them tough on the Prairies, and don't you forget it.

What's on the line?: Winner goes to the 2009 Grey Cup game in Calgary on Nov. 29 against either Montreal or B.C. That game is sold out, but if the Riders win, some tickets are expected to suddenly become available. Call your friends in Calgary.

Field type: FieldTurf, an American product that combines "monofilament fibres" with a combination of cryogenic rubber, silica sand and watermelon seeds. The seeds did not come with the original installation.

Capacity: 30.945. Doesn't count people standing on their cars and peering in, sneaking in dressed as Gainer the Gopher, or babies, some born just last week, carried in their parents' arms. Any fans you see in Stampeders' red, by the way, are among the bravest people you've ever met.

Head-to-head: Three games in the regular season, two wins by the Riders (one by one point, the other by 16) and one tie.

Playoff history: First time they've met in the West final since 1971 when the Stamps won and went on to take the Grey Cup over Toronto in the rain at Vancouver. (And as a side note, Argos coach Leo Cahill should never have called that handoff to Leon McQuay, who fumbled).

This is the sixth time since 1971 they've met in the playoffs, with the Riders going 4-1. Really? Hmmm…

Coaches: Ken Miller for Saskatchewan. John Hufnagel for the Stampeders.

Miller's coaching style: "C'mon over here, son, let's have a grumpy fatherly chat."

Hufnagel's coaching style: Duck.

Calgary's best player: Running back Joffrey Reynolds (1,504 yards rushing on 235 carries for an average of 6.4 a lug, plus 11 touchdowns). He's so good even Saskatchewan legend George Reed, one of the most revered men in the province, loves him.

Saskatchewan's best players: Defensive ends John Chick and Stevie Baggs, who together have 22 sacks. You can find their pictures in Calgary post offices.

Chick is a sweet young man from Wyoming who moved full time to Regina last off-season. Does much charity work.

Baggs is a sweet young man from Florida who does much charity work and is a school teacher in the off-season.

Then they put their helmets on.

Who would the CFL most like to see in the Grey Cup?: Saskatchewan versus Toronto. Honest.

Player under the most potential pressure: Rider kicker Luca Congi who, if he has to try a game-winning field goal, may want to hide under the bench.

Back in 2004, then-kicker Paul McCallum missed an 18-yarder in overtime of a playoff game with B.C. Some nutcase Rider fans trashed the outside of his house and dumped manure in his neighbour's driveway, thinking it was his.

McCallum eventually signed with B.C., and he still doesn't think it's funny, thank you very much.

Best headgear: Watermelon heads, carved by Rider fans. And they're getting ever more complicated. Some now have ear holes and face guards.

Are these two teams really that closely matched?: Is Alberta conservative? Is Saskatchewan a have province? Was Trudeau's National Energy Program a bad idea?

RE: Did you ever fall in love with someone you never met in person?

"jmo" - but I do believe it to be possible to a point. When a couple is able to communicate and get to know one another without the distraction of the physical connection (or lack thereof)...they may come to value and respect each other as people and appreciate all that they have to offer. In my experience, very deep feelings existed before we were face to face...meeting and spending time together was the obvious next step that competed the process of falling in love.

RE: For All You blondes ... Including Gordo

laugh I am so not a frying pan bashing kinda girl...angel
Hi back to Brian...hope his trips are going well and safe! Have not noticed his rig at the Chalet lately???? Oh...nor do I do peroxide...but I am going to try for a shade or two darker; just for the hell of it! wine
