RE: Special Request ...

angel hug Comfort and hugs and prayers to you Jenny from the bottom of my soul. I know that is is very difficult right now, in this moment, you are broken and overwhelmed...but it will get better, you know that; I know you know that. And, as cliche as it is, there truly is a reason for it all, the good and the bad, the elation and the sorrow - it happens and the reasoning may be so hard to see, but it is there, for you to find and see when you are meant to. I am sad for you Jenny, but I believe that a woman of your strength and wisdom will be okay....Hugs, T

this is so true

Beer contains female hormones. Last month, Wits University and RAU scientists released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer. Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption.

The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain Phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women.

To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period.

It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects :

1) Argued over nothing.
2) Refused to apologize when obviously wrong.
3) Gained weight.
4) Talked excessively without making sense.
5) Became overly emotional
6) Couldn't drive.
7) Failed to think rationally.
8) Had to sit down while urinating.

No further testing was considered necessary.

Send this to the men you know to warn them about drinking too much beer!

RE: Canada

handshake
There seems to be an abundance of employment here...several businesses are bringing in temporary often "non-english" speaking immigrants to work, as they cannot get enough locals to work. It is one of the most beautiful places to live in the world, I am sure. There are people living here from all over the world, some permanently. I would say, seriously consider moving up this way - take a chance, pretty good chance you will not regret it! wave

Life is now complete

confused
Have had a feeling for a while now...something is missing; not sure what it is, but somehow, my heart knows that if it came along, my life, as I know it...will be complete! applause applause It has happened! I am so excited, I can hardly breath...and have this need to share!

RE: How do you know if the man\woman is serious in an online relationship?

doh And taxes

RE: How do you know if the man\woman is serious in an online relationship?

You don't. Simple. Nor do they know if you are serious of not...But then again, how do you know if you will get hit by a bus tomorrow, or drop dead of a heart attack? or...the list goes on and on. Really, it is all about believing, taking a leap of faith, listening to your gut, taking a chance. There are no guarantees in life, other than birth and death.purple heart

RE: the 1st and the 4th

cheering Happy Birthday USA!!! What are you...500? Kidding of course, have alot of extended family to the south...always kind of jealous of the larger and what seemed like far more patriotic celebrations that the state's have! dancing

RE: R.I.P.

No offense taken here kim...JMO, but what a tortured and unhealthy soul MJ was (albeit very talented)...death will finally provide him with the peace that he so obviously needed and probably craved. As we were inundated with the height of the media circus when Anna Nicole died, I really think the ongoing saga of Michael Jackson and the chaos left behind is going to make that all look like nothing. Good thing we all have the ability to change the channel if we choose! angel

RE: gordy

hug Awwww gordy, bouquet right back at you, you sweet man! Hope you had a great day today...looked like we were in for some nasty rain, but it turned out to be a good one applause

RE: Happy 1st of July everyone!

cheering canada yay wine

Hope everyone had/is having a fantastic day! Did a bit of fishing, bit of bbq, a bit of this and a bit of that...nice to have a day off in the middle of the week!
Enjoy the fireworks for us too Kid!....they set them off here, but it's too light out to really see them...dancing

Lack of activity on Canadian Forums...

I heard about the mine change - will it be good or bad for you? Glad to hear you are keeping busy...me too! And I agree, for the most part, there aren't enough hours in the day.
Screen doors and dogs...been there done that many times. My really good friend who raises dobes and german shepherds as well - HINT: Use a lighter gauge expanded metal grating on the bottom over the screen - just attached to the frame - works wonders! A few more $, but then you aren't replacing all the time! Have a good day Gord! dancing

rolling on the floor laughing You guys were funny - and that laughter did us all alot of good.
I know Kim, I am so busy some days I am catching myself! Work is mentally exhausting most of the time...fell like I have run a marathon by the end of the day. Am going to change Chayse's name to "Iwannaa" - so many places he wants to go and things to do...
My point was so many people comment or complain about the lack of activity here - but they don't do anything about it.
Personally, I post when I can - I will start a thread now and again - but doing so kinda of is way down on the priority list!
And like you...I am flipping tired!
No job yet? It'll happen - the right one will - hug teddybear
Oh well, at least we have lives - so that life can happen right!

RE: letting go party

conversing It really can be a pain when someone gets in your head isn't it? Hell, mine gets pretty full with just me. Know what Gord - it is never too late to have that - you are out of my life/out of my mind celebration...lots of things that you can do. hug

RE: how long after divorse ..WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN???

wave Okay, my two cents worth...Something like a marriage is a huge part of one's life and when that marriage dissolves, along with it goes lost hopes, dreams, wishes and wants. Most people grieve this loss, in a very similar way that one would grieve a death - because it is a very significant loss. Thus, most will go through all the stages of grief, in various degrees. And that is okay, because it means you are human and it means you feel. In my opinion, I think you get to the point where you really feel nothing at all - the anger is gone - kind of indifferent, you know. You can see that there were good times and love at one time and that for what ever reason, it did not work - you are you and deserve to continue on your life's journey. And when you are whole and healthy and can say it doesn't matter any more, when you have let go - you are ready! dancing And there is no time line....But it does happen!!!yay

Just a Thought....

A cute little saying I heard the other day....

See that you are playing stupid....

And you are winning! angel

RE: Mom Update

I am so grateful to hear this Kim; I know that this had been a very very difficult time for all of you...and it will get better - every day hug

RE: What irritates you?

applause applause Ditto, Ditto, and more Ditto - in fact just got one about 15 minutes ago - Love my profile, would love to explore possibilities, love to get to know me more....effing bit me all ready!!! But then again, guess although we are not looking, we are on a dating site and it is what it is, right? Just gotta shake your head once in awhile and say "dummy up!"
Things are middling to great! Just took Chayse down to the river tonight to cast for a bit - they aren't feeding yet, but that's okay - the surroundings are so beautiful...can't wait to go camping in the mountains!
You have to come up....if you can! teddybear

RE: What irritates you?

confused It really depends upon what day of the week it is;and what week of the month it is; and many other things combined grin But, for the most part - rude, obnoxious people, bad drivers (and so I move to the place in Canada that statistically has the worst drivers doh ) - Square toed socks; when someone takes that last of something out of the box, but doesn't throw the box away...how the hell am I supposed to know we are "out of it"? and parents who don't pay child support and complain that I am doing them wrong by registering with maintenance enforcement. very mad

RE: Saying goodbye to my CS friends.

applause I am sooooo happy for you and your special lady...and I know that you will treat her as such, because that is the kind of man you are! cheering Everytime I eat Hummus, I think of you Gord! Please, pass on that email to Kim...and then maybe she can to me...there are a few of us that keep in touch and share the odd joke etc. I too, busy with my new life and love...don't get on here as much as I used to! and...just to let you know; the kiddo is doing alot better and thank you for all of your advise and informed thoughts! teddybear

Let's drink a toast to the "former loner" and his special gal wine

RE: Happy Victoria DAY........

comfort Obviously, you are busy seeding! Farming is one of the few occupations where you really get jilted when it comes to long weekends...but, it is one of the occupations that make the world go 'round! So, you gotta feel good about that!

Anyways, hope everyone had a happy and safe weekend! Was too cold to camp (JMO), but today was beautiful here in the Yukon - and I hear Drayton Valley received half a foot of snow laugh angel

RE: Anyone in here know anything about the VW Golf car?

Can you smell antifreeze? ... Heater Core, but my guess is a very simple fix - the thermostat. Not expensive - head to Napa, and ask someone who is reasonably handy with vehicles to put it in! wave

RE: Re-Introduction

wave And welcome back...

Have to agree with the boyz...you still need to head a bit farther west to really be in Canada laugh

RE: Mom Update

Bump...

Hi all....just wanted to let you know that Kim's mom and her family and Kim herself are still needing our support and positive thoughts and prayers...Mrs. H is again in I guess what could be called a health crisis.

So...from me and mine to you and yours Kim...thinking of you all so much and praying that everything will turn around and your mom will find the strength and will to overcome! Hugs T

catching up and stuff...

wave Hi, been busy, busy, busy!
KDH!!! Kim, I pray your mum enjoyed this day and it doing okay! Chemo is a b*tch they say...brings much younger and stronger people to their knees...bouquet
Last night we were coming up from Miles Canyon (my first visit there - you have to come and see it!) and A DARK GREEN TRUCK PULLING A WALLYWORLD TRAILER? - Was that B?

I was reading through some posts in the recent past...wowsers, there have been some contrary, cantankerous, crotchety peoples around and about...but they don't stick around. Why not? Scared that they may be converted over to the happy side of life? Just wondering....And - noticed a few were very politely and subtly taken down from their "high horse" - as my g-pa used to call it. JMO, kind of sad that some people are unable to see that the chip on their shoulder is very visible and obvious and the odds of finding and keeping a health relationship are pretty slim...

It's beautiful in the Yukon...the robins are singing, the sun is shining...and it has been SNOWING IN SASKATCHEWAN!!! Hmmm...one of the many signs I know I made the right choice! Although - I am somewhat tired of "it's the freight" and "We don't have the population to support that level of service"...ummm "Bite me"

Where has Curvy gone? I hope she has found her love or is just taking a bit of a break...

dancing and the beat goes on

RE: is it just me?

wave
I tend to believe that most people who are on dating sites are looking to meet someone; what their intentions for the long haul are? Not my problem or concern...I control only me. Seems easier that way, worry about yourself and what you are looking for - if you really are sincere...people will come along. Not saying they are all keepers, like K says, gotta kiss alot of frogs! (and ya do)! My significant other and I found each other on this site. I stay on because I enjoy the forums, when I have time! There are people on here that I care about...they matter and I value what they have to say, the jokes are good for a giggle and it is a good place to just "be" sometimes! wine So lonely, hang in there angel

RE: Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!

For all the moms and grandmas!
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL MOTHER’S DAY!!
JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office,
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.

She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder,
'do you have a job or are you just a .?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.

'I'm a Mom.'

'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation,

'housewife' covers it,'
Said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'

'What is your occupation?' she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know.
The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations.'

The clerk paused, ball -point pen frozen in m midair and
looked up as though she had not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)
In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out.)
I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)
and already have four credits (all daughters).
Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)
and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers

and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more

distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.'

Motherhood!

What a glorious career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers
'Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations'
And great grandmothers
'Executive Senior Research Associates?'
I think so!!!
I also think it makes Aunts

Associate Research Assistants.'

Please send this to another Mom,
Grandmother,
Aunt,

And other friends you know.

May your troubles be less,

Your blessing be more,

And nothing but happiness come through your door!

teddybear
