Walley, I was just joking around ...everything in my life is good; beyond good and am very happy. I was just making light of the thread name "cold and beautiful" sort of tongue in cheek describing not only myslelf(haha) but any woman if she so chose (haha). Life is good...and am looking forward to a lengthy holiday season with family and loved ones And a trip way up north to spend Christmas with my man is warming my heart
What are you all thinking about cooking up to help take a bite out of this freaking cold?
Me? Perogies with dilled mushroom sauce and some awesome farmer's sausage...feeding two 13 year old boys; wonder how many dozen perogies they will eat?
So, the Holiday Season is upon us. like it or not! How about we share some of our memorable and special Christmas' (or what ever you personally celebrate)? Can be a gift, an event, something simple or extravagant. From child hood to the present.....
My #1 Christmas memory and gift and event all rolled up into one is - a week before Christmas in 1991, I gave birth to my eldest son. Since then, every Christmas pales in comparison ...for me, it was the ultimate!
From what I understand, they effects of the "antics" in our Legislature are being felt on the stock market and we, as a country are being closely watched by the rest of the free world. I believe that all has the potential to reek considerable economic grief for Canadians, in one way or another. JMO, but I am thinking of many of the things that are very wrong right now, right here, in our own country - (I am not referring to the causes of such, just the results) - homelessness, the overburdened health care system, illiteracy, rising prescriptions costs, our aging population and the lack of geriatric resources, increased poverty, increased addiction ...and so on and so on.... I don't know, just kind of thinking about where and how I would like to see government bucks and attention going....just a thought
Okay, from what I can understand from what I could hear off the news is that the Liberals and the NDP did not like the financial budget presented by the newly elected PCs. The PCs have been told to redo the budget and if it is not what the Ls and the Ns want, they will join forces and therefore outnumber the PCs and boot them out??? Is this summary correct (ish)? Is this going to happen every time the oppositional parties don't like what the government does, because the ruling government is the minority? Yikes....
I have been thinking about this somewhat and have come to the following conclusion: "If" the scenario is actual and "if" you are the man in question - I believe you answered your own question simply by posting it. If you didn't have any doubt that what you were doing was questionable etc., you would not have asked for opinions...you knew in your gut. Now, that is just assuming that you are the guy
You should take a trip back in the threads and you will see that not too long ago it was a very busy place. I am Canadian thread? I believe that Brew started a damn good one around July 1st. I think we all get busy with life...some have had life altering changes in the form of a significant other...some have increased their work hours...some have felt that it is better for them to stay out of the forums for various reasons...who knows? Like everything else in life, here too are cycles. I myself find I am much busier and I tend to spend more time on Facebook than I uses to
Guess that is true, passport wise, if they have border security.....which somehow I am guessing that they - would probably be an interesting place to visit for a variety of reasons.
It is above o here in Saskatchewan - and all that the warm temperature has managed to do is make the little bit of snow we have slippery. Saskatoon is brown, next to no ice on the river. We seem to be stuck in fall, and I guess that can be expected - after all it is not officially winter until Dec.21st!!! I too, enjoy the beauty and most other things about Canadian Winters, wouldn't change it for anything.
I hear you Brew....mine is Do wah diddy diddy...WTF - Manfred Man? did they not do Blinded By the Light? That would be better. I would prefer something by Skynyrd or The Stones or hell even the Beatles, I guess I prefer good stuff that came after my birth . . . hell even Elvis would be better than what I got...
I do like some of the songs of these three artists, but I do "hear" what you are saying I think; THEY ARE VERY HARD TO WATCH!!! Particularly Celine, I find it painful to watch her perform - her mannerisms? I don't know.....but then, who the hell am I? They are the multi millionaires, and award winners - so guess they appeal to many and know what they are doing....
I have had and worked with several dogs and most have been purebred. Although there is nothing wrong with mixed breeds, I would be more apt to get a purebred dog. Each breed of dog is bred specifically for a purpose (retriever, herder, ratter etc.) It breeds that are not compatible are mixed, the result can be a dog with very significant behaviour issues. If you mix 2 or more breed that have the same serious health concerns, you are amplifying that risk (hip displaysia, cataracts, bleeders, etc). These are all risks with purebred dogs as well, However, if you purchase from a reputable breeder who is CKC/AKC affiliated, you are able to see the pedigree of the animal, probably 7 generations back or more - you can research the behaviours, temperments, medical, conformation etc. and usually are provided with a guarantee as well. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. Personally, I have huge concerns about some of the "hybrid breeds" that are being touted about - some very incompatible mixtures - some are often armed missiles with out guidance systems. JMO, there is nothing wrong with rescue dogs and mixed breeds, just be aware, careful and educate yourself and be prepared as a dog owner to commit to solid training. It is a dog owners responsibility to ensure his/her dog is a good citizen.
It sounds simple enough Brew and well worth looking into. I have all inclusive unlimited long distance with t.v. and internet through the "provincially owned crown corp." However, there are others elsewhere who do not, so am going to pass on this little tidbit of info and see what can be done....Thanks much!
HELL NO!!!! Basically what "he" is telling her is that she would not be his first choice for a intimate, long term partner, but because the one he really wants is too far away - he will settle for her. That would give any woman a warm fuzzy feeling: "you are good enough I guess, for second choice"... I would be insulted on many different levels....and how would I deal with it? Keep on walking dude.....JMHO
Hi Brew - this sounds super interesting to me, however, let us remember that I could not figure out how to control a berserk keyboard and have yet to completely hook up my home stereo/theatre system (think I will just wait to move where there is a man who can do it) - yes I said that-I am going to hand the problem over to a man . This Skype set up sounds complicated and does one have to buy the phone? And you keep your regular land line for local calling, am I correct? Do you download the Skype program? It almost sounds worth looking into for someone who doesn't have a good unlimited long distance calling plan.
Even thought the "secret" is out, please don't stop these posts. I read every one and learn from every one. Kind of like my own little on line Al-Anon. My man lives his life of long term sobriety very much by his 12 step program and many of the personal qualities that have developed in him through this are what makes him so special to me and others, he is a remarkable man...but, he does think differently about some things and because I am not of the same "frame of mind" so to speak, it can be difficult. What you write helps me understand him better and appreciate him more. I respect him because of his courage and level of commitment to his sobriety. It is important to ME that I understand it better and it is my choice to learn. So for whatever it is worth, thank you.
Continue to live as I do now - don't buy on credit, don't spend what you can't afford, budget......and of course I would revert to the ability to only buy what I need, not what I want! There are no choices, you either make it through or you don't - I would choose to make it through, come hell or high water!!!
Heeeellloooo , Yep, I am here. I do browse through the forums now and again, just really busy with life here in Saskatchewan. Weather???? Weird.....+5 yesterday and +4 today. We do have some snow, but not alot. Just enough for snowmobiles, but barely and only those that are liquid cooled. Snow will be super sticky, perfect for a snowball war or making a snowman. My son is still riding his bike to school. The worst thing is that with this weather and the melt, when it does cool down, and it will, it will be icier than ????? and that means accidents, especially here in the city where people tend to drive too fast anyways...(I only drive faster than posted limits in the summer) Anyways, if my car gets hit, it damn well better be hit well enough to total it!
Hi K!!! Happy birthday to your mom, something tells me that she is an awesome lady who deserves all the best wishes she can get! And of course, BEST WISHES to "B", you all have a great time celebrating and stay the H out of too much trouble! I too, seem to be busy re integrating myself into my "real life" Actively looking for a full time change in career, one that can transfer easily with a relocation....peak into the forums now and again - tend to spend more time on Facebook for some reason. Take care....
