RE: What would you bring to a potluck?

That's probably because you wake at the break of dawn, in the same position you passed out in; to discover they just cleaned the mess up, left you sleeping and went home? drinking

RE: What would you bring to a potluck?

Just lasagne, but instead of using all the noodles and cheese, you use cheese stuffed raviolli, tastes just as good, but way less work and MESS. grin

RE: What would you bring to a potluck?

A pan of ravisagne and a bottle of beverageinnocent

RE: EUREKA!!!!

Kinda think that a) she knows he is dead, just trying to get a few people laughing - and she succeeded OR b)It is a TRIBUTE to Glenn Miller, she just forgot to mention that.
Regardless, it is still really funny.grin

RE: EUREKA!!!!

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing LMFAO - outloud - that was funny and I needed a really good laugh, thanks Mr. Brewgrin

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

Guess my feeling that little one would not be interested in sleep was right so it is a good thing I picked up a new book at Shopper's.(Did you know you could buy a pak of 6 100calorie cups of Breyer's ice cream?)Anyways, I got James Patterson's Step on a Crack. I've never read his books so I hope it will be a good read.

RE: Museum....

It is the way it is, I had great plans with a three year old and we were to be snuggled in bed, but she discovered green jello cups and I am again watching treehouse!! But it could be worse! Atleast you are somewhere where you have the option of going to a great museum and be thankful that you have a mom that talks to you. So chin up, tomorrows another day!cheering

The Bane of My Existance

Well that`s sweet. I know that it is a kind of warped logic, but it works - goes for aero bars to. banana

RE: Thunder storm.... and it's raining...

We are going to go for an ice cream treat and then splashing, the parking lot is full of lights. Then a warm bath and snuggle and watch a movie. You all have a great night.grin

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

Apple Jacks (they are gross-in my opinion)! Mixing cornstarch and water and letting them muck in it! I think I have the ingrediants to make banana splits - or brownies! Seems to me that it all relates to food and this concerns me...
Analyze This is on tonight
And I too believe that you and Brew should consider something a little more formalÉinnocent

RE: Thunder storm.... and it's raining...

I am thinking that one or two would be okay; been a helluva week, but being with little one is a perfect way to end the week (well, in all honesty its the only option I have really). So, we`ll find something to do or maybe we will go spashing!! It`s just watergrin

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

Good night moon is the multi generational favorite here, but she really enjoys Dr. Seuss - Have a few of Robert Munch too. She really likes retro toons, they literally are the ones that were on tv when I was a kid, mind you they were in black and white! What really amazes me is that she can play on the computer, treehouse has a great games site, and she has mastered the mouse alot quicker than I did! Have to find something to do, too wet to go to the park.

RE: Thunder storm.... and it's raining...

Oh well, maybe it will warm up next week! Guess it could be worse, could be at the lake trying to keep everyone dry and entertained.

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

If you turn to treehouse, there is, at this very moment a terrific episode of Berenstein Bears! laugh I have the pleasure of the company of a three year old tonight.

RE: Thunder storm.... and it's raining...

Just wondering what the weather is doing in Edmonton tonight? Usually what you have we get about 8 to 10 hours later. And I need to know if there is sun coming. The rain and break in the heat was nice, but this is almost getting depressing!

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

To Kill A Mockingbird is a book that I really don't think many people will forget - timeless. I saw Randy Pausch on Oprah and another show as well and couldn't stop crying - so, no, you are not a stupid twit. I don't think that I could, at this point in life get through reading his book. In my opinion, I think that we will all get to where he is, we all just have different paths to take to get there.

RE: Thunder storm.... and it's raining...

The rain is glorious! Cleaning the grit and the grime and the smoke away! It was so hot and humid; the rain and cooler temp is welcome - maybe not for campers etc. but it has given the firefighters a break and spared many acres of forest and allowed hundreds of people to return to their homes in the north. Ahhh, and the smell...I know what you mean - don't have a backyard right now but...

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

You have to read it again - really makes one think about the ingrained inhumanity in what was and is humanity; from then until now and probably for ages to come. Remember Lord of Flies? Now that was ages ago for me.I really enjoyed Frankenstein - books I was forced to read in university, that made me use my head because a grade depended upon it - have become my favorite standbys! What kind of music to you enjoy? Play instruments?
OH, wanted to tell you that your artwork is really beautiful. I dabble in acrylics as well, but compared to yours, I DABBLE!

RE: What are you Reading.... or Listening to

wave Just finished reading the second in the Signs of Seven Trilogy by Nora Roberts - doesn't make me think too hard, but great for basic entertainment . . to exercise my brain muscle I unearthed and began picking through William Golding's The Inheritors - and remember why I loved it so much! Listening to everything - old and new Rush to Bryan Adams to Fleetwood to Kid Rock (his song New Orleans is great in my opinion). We are enjoying this years Canadian Idol - there is some real talent on there this year and I do believe it surpasses the rival American Idol.

How is the new little one doing?

RE: War...

Terrific!! It takes a little special something for a person to be a foster parent. Isn't it ironic how new life; the smell and innocent goodness of a newborn can put everything into perspective real quick? Enjoy.

RE: War...

jaw drop Really don't know what to say; but do know that "people" like that, and I use that term very reluctantly, are not only an embarrassment to those Muslims that are not extremists, but an embarrassment to humanity as a whole. Chin up!cheering There is obviously something very wrong with this fellow, like he is more than a sandwich short of a picnic, and by engaging in any type of contact with him, his deranged and dangerous fire is being fueled.

The Bane of My Existance

Green tea would be better for me if it was full of caffeine - I, no, my body requires caffeine to run effeciently. I have found an appreciation for the honey krueller - they tend to be hollow (ish), so my theory is that one is really not eating much of anything but air and therefore one is not consuming mega calories and - damn they are good, so I get 2 grin

The Bane of My Existance

Thanks for the advice and I will use it if there is a next time and IF I get it hooked and running THIS TIME. I only stayed up until 3:30 and I am not even going to let it get to me today (For a bit). And I am sure that it is men that designed all of these objects that are now neccesities and I do think they want to drive us crazy;the trick is you don't let them; you let them think they are and then...and remember , there is a good kinda crazy too, I say as I go off on another tangent! I actually bit the bullet and phoned my MOMMY for help and lo and behold am told, while she is snorting giggles, that it is really quite easy and she did it (the stereo not the crazy thing)that's a whole other novel! So, I am going to cruise down to Tim's for some strong fuel, pop in a bit of Bon Jovi, waste a bit more of this gold dust gas, come home, hook the wires up in the most logical fashion (cause logic should work right?), plug it in, and hope it doesn't blow up. If it does, I will go down to wallyworld and buy me a boombox!confused

The Bane of My Existance

One would wonder what the heck I am doing up at this hour. Quite frankly, I would rather be doing other things but I chose to spend my evening and now night staring at an array of wires and coloured plugs and various home stereo/theatre componants. Now, I am a grown adult, reasonabley intelligent, who has managed to quite effectively deal with a variety of challenges. I know the person that hooked all of this up originally and he ain't no rocket scientist, but in my recent move, I failed to pay attention ( or take a picture, someone suggested after the fact) of the "hook-up". I have been putting this off for way too long, but the price of gas is making listening to my cds while driving around a rather expensive hobby! Of all the things in life that have the potential to push me a lot closer to the inevitable edge, I did not anticipate this being one. I just want to know who the heck designed all of this stuff and why can it not be made a little simpler for the technology challenged like me (or maybe I am technologically impaired)? So I keep taking these little breaks and playing on the computer trying to gather my thoughts and lower my anxiety. I cannot believe that I am intimidated by these plastic and metal objects, but I am not going to give in; although I may end up calling uh? people who do this sort thing on Monday morning. I just needed to rant and rave about what had become my very own bane of existance.frustrated

RE: Laughter is the greatest sound, and a smile up lifting...

Good evening, just wanted to let you know how many giggles I get from the banter between yourself and "mr. Brew" (kinda sounds like a host for childen's program doesn't it) Anyway, reminds me of those times in my parent's marriage when they were really happy (those fleeting moments in childhood where we got that warm fuzzy feeling that all was well) No they never divorced!; It also leans towards reminding me of the humourous yet sarcastic relationship of Ken Kostick and Mary Jo Eustace (CBC's Whats for dinner)Regardless, it really is entertaining and seems that the two of you got a good thing going, whatever that thing may be.angel
