RE: buy black experiment

Hi LFwave

I don't have a problem with this couple supporting black enterprisedunno I think it very noble to be honest. As we all know about the history of black Americans. I am not surprised that a black couple would feel it important to do just that .

I remember coming accross a story from the 1980's (Ithink)about black Americans taking issue with McDonalds because they saw that
MacDonalds would not give out franchises to black people in black areas where the customers were predominantly black.

This led future business people who were black instigating "The Operation Push " programme or initiative to boycott MacDonalds
in order to "push " them to change their refusal to give franchises to black people.

The above is a bit different than your OP . However in my opinion
I see it (what this coupleare doing) as a follow on from such practises as MacD's and the like did in the past .

I don't think it is a major devicive issue at all. Had the couple requested the black businesses not to serve white customers ,then for me that would be prejudiced . But they are not doing any such thing .They are merely spending thier money where they want ,which is the American way , is it not?

RE: The perfect getaway?

L.
You wouldn't have to eat dinner alone . There are so many fellow travelers who are only to happy to go out socialise ,go to cafes
day trips ect .

The only time I am alone when I travel is when I want to be.Really that is the situation .

I think you would love it and that you would meet many folk who are nice decent people .

hug

RE: The perfect getaway?

Hi Laura wave

But that is my whole point .You do not need another to go travelling. It wouldn't have entered my head to travel alone , however a friend let me down on a planned and payed for holiday ,
it really wasn't their fault .So I had to make the best out of an awful situation. I went on my own and never had a moment of loneliness as I got out there and met people .

It was a truely life changing experience , I think differently about what I can't do now .If fact there are not many can't do's
now. I see my relationships as adding to my life, however ,they are not the be all and end all of my life .Not saying yours are ,please don't get me wrong . But travelling alone frees you
in every aspect of your life IMO .There is no going back ,my sister wants to come travelling with me when I return to Canda or where ever but I am kinda put out by that to be honest .I love my sis and she is a good laugh but it will be much different than taking off on my own dunno

Anyone can travel alone if they have their head screwed on and is mindful of the pitfalls out there for the lone travelerhug
