RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

But the Kennedy's had no experience in presidency. I feel it is a huge difference between being a governor, senator, congressman, of a state, then running a country. HUGE! Don't you think so?

RE: I'm really not doing to good today

You're a good man, Charlie Brown. No matter what anyone says. applause

RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

nice to see you laughing though.................rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

so what you say is, Obama is NOT experinced in politics? But Mc cain is? I'm confused. what experience in Politics did Kennedy have? Turman? Lincoln even? Clinton? Bush? Ford?

RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

Yes I do. Am I happy with the job done? absolutely not!
I feel it is a hard job to run THIS country, and if you remember how this country was after 9/11. why every man, woman, and child, would have taken arms to go get whoever was responsible. Flags flew everywhere you look.
he does something about it by using force to stop it, or he thinks,
prevent it from happening again, and now he is wrong because we are losing far too many lives, and he made a wrong choice, and so on, and so on, and so on.

stand by your choice, and if your choice doesn't win, support the man who has the toughest job in this world to perform. he makes decisions, which not one of us, will ever be capable of doing in my eyes. NOT ONE. that is why we speak about it, and vote on it. for change, it is our right, yet someone's gong to win,and someone's going to lose. that is life. may the best man win, in all our eyes, and thus this thread will be history, and we'll just have one big happy party. DEAL?
handshake cheers

RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

If you can name me ONE, just ONE person, who ran for president, not re-election mind you, that has experience in running this country I'll eat my hat. I guess McCain is experienced at presidency? maybe you should have brought Hillary in on the subject. She's experinced isn't she. NOT!

we can't use experince as an issue, because no first time presidential candidate is experienced at running this, or any country for that matter.

RE: Cast Your Protest Vote!

very true, and forgive me if I ruffled your feathers. it was not my intent. Thought we were having a discussion here. You stated your case, and thus I, not in agreement, stated my own. Maybe I might have gone a bit far with it, and for that I am sorry.

Now go cast your vote, but support whoever gets in, as that is what I'll do, if my vote does win.

Sure do hope my vote wins though................yay

RE: This still makes me smile. Taken from one of my stories..............

some people are just slow.

I was at a gas station filling up my car with gas, of course, and in New Jersey, the attendant pumps it for you. it is not a self serve state. Anyway, along side my vehicle, on the other pump, pulls up a basketball player who played for the NY knicks, whose name I believe was Albert king or something like that. anyway, this attendant is pumping my gas, and in shock over pumping Albert King's car, which was a massive yatch, compared to my little VW. He talked and talked, and it came time for me to pay for my gas, as I was done. handed him a $20.00 bill for about 12.00 worth of gas. he not only gave me my change, but handed me the $20.00 bill back too. Now folks, let's keep in mind I was 21 at the time. Well, I pulled out of the gas station and my friends all laughed, as he should have been more careful about getting so excited talking to a basketball player. needless to say the following payday, I returned and gave the $20.00 to the kid who pumped my gas. he didn't even know it was missing, as he turned out to be the owner of the gas staions son.
lesson learned. one mans mistake, is another mans reward. stupid, stupid, stupid, me!doh

ACT TWO. to be read after you have read act one.

this is quite interesting

TWO

World War II produced many heroes. One such man was Lieutenant Commander Butch O'Hare.

He was a fighter pilot assigned to the aircraft carrier Lexington in the South Pacific.

One day his entire squadron was sent on a mission. After he was airborne, he looked at his fuel gauge and realized that someone had forgotten to top off his fuel tank. He would not have enough fuel to complete his mission and get back to his ship.

His flight leader told him to return to the carrier. Reluctantly, he dropped out of formation and headed back to the fleet.

As he was returning to the mother ship he saw something that turned his blood cold: a squadron of Japanese aircraft was speeding its way toward the American fleet.

The American fighters were gone on a sortie, and the fleet was all but defenseless. He couldn't reach his squadron and bring them back in time to save the fleet. Nor could he warn the fleet of the approaching danger. There was only one thing to do. He must somehow divert them from the fleet.

Laying aside all thoughts of personal safety, he dove into the formation of Japanese planes. Wing-mounted 50 caliber's blazed as he charged in, attacking one surprised enemy plane and then another. Butch wove in and out of the now broken formation and fired at as many planes as possible until all his ammunition was finally spent.

Undaunted, he continued the assault. He dove at the planes, trying to clip a wing or tail in hopes of damaging as many enemy planes as possible and rendering them unfit to fly.

Finally, the exasperated Japanese squadron took off in another direction.

Deeply relieved, Butch O'Hare and his tattered fighter limped back to the carrier.

Upon arrival, he reported in and related the event surrounding his return. The film from the gun-camera mounted on his plane told the tale. It showed the extent of Butch's daring attempt to protect his fleet.

He had, in fact, destroyed five enemy aircraft.

This took place on February 20,1942, and for that action Butch became the Navy's first Ace of W.W.II, and the first Naval Aviator to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.

A year later Butch was killed in aerial combat at the age of 29. His home town would not allow the memory of this WW II hero to fade, and today, O'Hare Airport in Chicago is named in tribute to the courage of this great man.

So, the next time you find yourself at O'Hare International, give some thought to visiting Butch's memorial displaying his statue and his Medal of Honor. It's located between Terminals 1 and 2.

SO WHAT DO THESE TWO STORIES HAVE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER?

Butch O'Hare was "Easy Eddie's" son.
