RE: Vocal Fry

So...moving forward...it's a lot...100%! Out of an abundance of caution...we should limit our cappin'! :) Not to cast shade on these phrases. Maybe "like, like, like, like..." isn't so terrible, comparative speaking.

RE: Vocal Fry

I watching some old show with my parents - set in the Sixties, think - where this guy said, "I like, like you man." I guess they never looked back. : "Like" is the new "You Know."

RE: Vocal Fry

Super-annoying and pretentious. It somehow symbolically captures the utter mindlessness of many young women. Never have so many mindless creatures been so incredibly arrogant - their self-view inflated beyond all reckoning by today's fantasy "you go girl" culture.

RE: Gut feelings.....

"Ultimately, it's not important what you said or did but how you made me feel." Self-destruction in words. A motto for narcissists and/or solipsists. Your feelings aren't sacred. You aren't the center of the universe. Your emotions are only as reliable as your character, intelligence, and honesty.

RE: Gut feelings.....

"Feel is Real" is one of the most toxic ideas ever. Everyone has feelings, and when they listen to them or treat them like dictators/gods, they will lead you to...well, HERE. dunno

RE: Red Flags

I believe she found some dude with extremely low testosterone and (therefore) strong authority-worshipping tendencies?

LOL!

RE: We Must Eat Bugs !

Orzz:

I suspect few people know about contaminants in food. Bugs may be the least of possible problems. It's not as if eating bugs is unhealthy per se but rather the sneaky methods the Corporatocracy uses to inflict its will on the citizenry at large. It's not as if people could survive without home or car ownership, either, but they're not what people would freely choose. Our rulers are all about what THEY choose for us to make their lives more fulfilling.

RE: We Must Eat Bugs !

What will be truly scary is when the WEF unfolds its bold plan to eat ARTIFICIAL bugs (made out of sawdust, petroleum, and soybean oil - yum!). To, you know, save the planet.

I know people (a friend) who just says "Whatever will be will be," Strikes me as drifting on a boat waiting for random weather rather than grabbing the steering wheel, turning on the motor, and generally acting like the captain of your boat rather than a helpless passenger.

I wonder what you mean by "letting go of expectations," Ten. That sounds like a terrible idea to me. Sounds like, "Letting go of my standards." If they're nutty standards, maybe, but standards such as intelligence, integrity, loyalty, and good looks? Standards that are rigid and silly ("I need my girlfriend to have blond hair and a perfect body"), sure, but why should anyone not have reasonable, intelligent standards?conversing

Cowboy type? He-haw! Most people think I'm ex-military. I've heard I carry myself like a soldier. But I kind of dig cowboys - and when I've had a couple of beers even country music. uh oh

My profile may seem long to some, but those aren't the people I'm looking for. The women who've written me give no indication they've read past the first sentence. That's fine. They eliminate themselves by doing that. I'm looking for someone who can focus their brain long enough to read a page of information. I know what I want - brains, beauty, and a big bank account. Just kidding about the last. I think...

Just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback. My dad found someone here years ago, but perhaps he was lucky or CS has changed. Anyway, that's why I've given it a chance.

Still haven't worked up the nerve or whatever to call the local Sioux Falls matchmakers.conversing

Damn, Ten. Too bad you aren't in your twenties and don't live within a couple hundred miles! You rock, in my opinion.,applause

That's actually pretty profound, Ten. You must not be American. :)

I've tried that. All I've met are ornery deer, a weirdly fat squirrel, and an assortment of birds.

Seriously, I live in a low-population state. Most women marry young, it seems, often having babies in their early to mid-twenties. I've met women in bars and other recreational venues but have had horrible luck finding a woman who "sticks." The women gene pool is extremely limited in my area. I've also blown it a number of times in not quickly pursuing women who might've stuck. So I thought I'd try the internet, though I'm highly skeptical I'll find anything here, either. Some young women sound great on paper, but prove to be lying through their teeth (so far). If people were only as good as their profiles...and generally, women's profiles are not persuasive to me. I mean, they write about liking travel, sunsets, and breathing - as if that says anything meaningful about them. Or perhaps it does? dunno

I hope you're wrong about that, GF. Some vaxxed have successfully had children. Also, there are ways to counter if not cure the effects of vaccination. I wish those who have been vaxxed would take the future risks seriously enough to check into those countermeasures. People I love have been vaxxed so naturally, I hope they'll be okay. I haven't had any success in persuading them to consider countermeasures.

Oh, sorry, TM, I didn't respond to your question about my wife/lover being unable to have children. THAT is a really tough question. I don't think I'd divorce her. Maybe we could adopt? If we weren't married, I might end our relationship. I'm not sure. I would place my (honest) wife above kids...but I wouldn't compromise on that point except under extreme circumstances.

Do People Who Post On CS FORUMS HAVE ANY INTEREST IN A ROMANTIC CONNECTION?

I wouldn't put myself in a position to love someone who didn't want children - not at my current age, anyhow. Certainly, I could fall in love with someone who didn't want children. I simply wouldn't be with such a person so I couldn't fall in love with them.

But if someone I loved and was with because she lied about wanting children (or changed her mind), would I divorce her? Absolutely. But I would want to avoid that by finding a woman who wouldn't lie to me - or change her mind - about something so important.

Will do, guys. I wouldn't mind a more traditionally-minded woman from a different culture, GF. Perhaps a Russian or an Asian? Those Russians are crazy! They have panthers and bears for pets! And our military wants to fight them. I sure as hell wouldn't. They probably have an Ovcharka Brigade waiting for us.wow

Do People Who Post On CS FORUMS HAVE ANY INTEREST IN A ROMANTIC CONNECTION?

No, I expect it to be VERY difficult. One problem is, as you pointed out, that many young women don't want to get "tied down" and desire to play the field before settling for a man.

I believe this is a mistaken strategy if your desire is to have a family and a lifetime mate. I suspect a large percentage of these "empowered"-"independent" women will be very disappointed as they approach or go past 30 with no mate in sight. The time to start a family isn't after thirty. Biology has not kept pace with wokeness. Having babies is still a young woman's game, and as of yet, you can't restore that capability in later age. If you could - and someday that will happen - then that's a whole other story.

I know this is a controversial subject for many, but I'm firmly convinced that what's happening in modern culture - and women's feminist-fueled "empowerment" is a large part of that - is sabotaging serious romantic relationships. It effectively consigns family and marriage to a second-thought status. First thing is to have a career and be successful (adopting male standards) and then, maybe, the wife and kid things. Whole lotta women are going to be severely disappointed with that approach, I expect.

And I'm not even religious or particularly conservative! But I think the so-called "manosphere" holds a lot of truths on this subject (it also has a woman-hating toxic side, which I totally reject).

Just checked out some matchmakes, G. They aren't THAT expensive! I think I'll give one a call on Monday.

Do People Who Post On CS FORUMS HAVE ANY INTEREST IN A ROMANTIC CONNECTION?

I wonder if matchmakers even exist in South Dakota. If so, I wonder how effective they were and how much they'd charge. Worth looking into, I guess... Thanks.

Yeah, I'm about ready to give up on CS. Despite knowing there are some cool people here. I'm not looking for friends or cool people. I want me a good woman. conversing

Do People Who Post On CS FORUMS HAVE ANY INTEREST IN A ROMANTIC CONNECTION?

@TM

Well, you're right only if I can't find an intelligent young woman of childbearing age. I'm sure they exist. Heck, I've got female cousins who would qualify., But laws and common morality prevent that kind of union in most states. :)

Any standard you use narrows the field of possible mates. Wanting someone who is good-looking greatly narrows the field. Ditto for intelligence, unwokeness, sanity, wanting children, not being obsessed with material things, etc. Would you truly say "you can't have it both ways" regarding this list? Can't have an intelligent and good-looking girl? Can't have a girl who isn't "woke" but still wants children? I understand wanting to compromise, but every person has lines in the sand. The only question is if they're reasonable/sane. It seems reasonable, in theory, to believe that some young women are bright and well-spoken, for example.

I don't think there's anything wrong with technology or science. I love both. It's the people who control those things that pose the danger. Every dictator these days tells us how "science" justifies his or her tyranny. It doesn't have to be that way. Socket wrenches can be used for good. I know that personally. :)

DAVOS has big plans to screw us all over, my brother. The insanity that's going on now (what they ungrammatically call the "Polycrisis") - and that includes the Ukraine War - is only a warmup for what they're working on. A central planner's paradise...and hell on earth for us plebes.

Man, I've read Zero and virtually everything else out there. I'm into Steve Kirsch these days. He's busy offering debates for money to any pro-vaxxer he can find. So far, not surprisingly, no takers.
