by the way, that was (4) 1 million dollar policies, and an insurance is a lot different than 41 million in the bank. If I had that, you are right, I would just buy my own single's site.
I was pretty much married to my career. Now I am not, but live in a small town where the only people who are around are either too young, already married, or not ladies that I would be comfortable taking home to see my mom if she were still alive. I was close to marriage once, but that was while I was still in college a LONG time ago.
Duran Duran and Men at Work is about as foreign as I have in my collection. I usually travel with my video mp3 player so I don't get exposed to a lot of other music when I travel.
Thinking about my X only makes me sad. I wanted to marry her, yet I could see where our future would be if we married and I called it quits after 3 years.
I'm kind of in that boat now. I have money, but I don't have any relatives, I am the last in line.
I would say I would probably give it all away. My will currently does that, but rather than straight cash, I have it set for a couple of charities to receive the money that I live on year to year, and I have 4 1-million dollar life policies that I set up 4 charities as the beneficiaries.
I remember the peace I felt standing on my balcony in my hotel in Seefeld, Austria on the top of a mountain looking down the valley at Innsbruck. There was several feet of snow on the ground, and it was just beautiful.
I remember the smell of South Street Seaport - I don't think I will ever get that smell out of my head.
I remember eating a filet mignon at a restaurant in Germany/Austria that had a dairy attached to it - the cows would come up to the big window and watch you eat their cousin Vern.
I said Germany/Austria because it was near the border and I can't remember which side I was on.

How in the world do you guys keep up with the posts on here. I checked like every 2 or 3 hours and there were so many posts I couldn't read them all before more got put on.
Having money isn't that great. Now, I am not saying it isn't nice not to have to stress about it. I am glad for that. But unless you have someone to share it with, it isn't that fun.
I would rather be poor and happily married than have money.
In the last few years, I have sold 3 houses (my own), bought a boat, sold a boat, sold 3 businesses, now I live of my investments and savings, have traveled to probably 20 different countries, and did it alone.
