Texing language....I find it difficult to read. Is it lacyness or?

Why do people use it even when not texting?
Do they believe it is "cool" or just lazyness?
I often just skip it and don't bother decyphering it.
How do you feel about this?

RE: Canada, and being Canadian

Talking about accents.
I still have my Dutch accent.
I only have to say on the phone; "Hello" and my friends recognize me.
How bad do I sound Kim?
Lol, when I heard myself on tape, I did not talk for three days.

My Dutch meighbour wants nothing to do with Holland anymore.
Yes he has two large windmills in the backyard and one in the front.???
Refuses to speak Dutch anylonger.
I speak mostly English too, but how can you forget/deny where you grow up?
I still read, write and can speak Dutch it is now just easier in English.

Clever kid's confession

Clever kid's confession

An Italian boy's confession.................. clever little kid...................
Thread: AN ITALIAN BOY'S CONFESSION...............

A young italian boy decides that it is time for confession...so he goes to the local church and sits in the confession box. moments later, the priest slides open the window and waits....

'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl'.

The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano ?'

'Yes, Father, it is.'

'And who was the girl you were with?'

'I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation'

Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?'

'I cannot say.'

'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?'

'I'll never tell.'

'Was it Nina Capelli?'

'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.'

'Was it Cathy Piriano?'

'My lips are sealed.'

'Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?'

'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.'

The priest sighs in frustration. 'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that.
But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months.
Now you go and behave yourself.'

Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, 'What'd you get?'

'Four months vacation and five good leads.

RE: Canada, and being Canadian

Hi, thanks for asking, yes all it well with me.
Still with the same Dutch guy. Almost a year now.
Come on here just to peek once in awhile.
How are things with you, all well I hope.

RE: Canada, and being Canadian

Interesting topic.
I have never regretted coming to Canada.
Someone told me many years ago; You DP's come
over here and buy land etc.
When I reminded him that he had been here before me, he
became silent.
I know had I stayed in Holland I would never have been able to own my own home.
I did feel the big differents when living in Ontario for four years, how little B.C. seems to count.
Like we are to far away and yes we are.
Yes the Western provinces want to separate but this should never
happen.
Just like Quebec should stay.
I feel pround to now be a Canadian and been here since 1958.

One for mom!.....................Ha ha.

JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office,
Was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.
She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder,
'do you have a job or are you just a .....?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.
'I'm a Mom.'

'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation,
'housewife' covers it,'
Said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself
In the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
Efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'

'What is your occupation?' she probed.
What made me say it? I do not know.
The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations.'

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and
Looked up as though she had not heard right.
I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words..
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
In bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)
In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)
And already have four credits (all daughters).
Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)
And I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers
And the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'
There was an increased note of respect in the clerk’s voice as she
Completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
Testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more
Distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.'

Motherhood!

RE: Can Jeepers do it part II....

Emphysema.
Just been told yesterday that I now have emphysema.
I quit smoking in 84 and my doctor told me it takes 35 years to not have long problems of some kind.

Quit smoking I smoked for 20 years.
Stopt cold turkey.
If you make up your mind to quit, it makes it easier.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

It is appointed for man to live and die only once.
After this comes the judgement.
Hebrews9-27

That should take care of reincarnation.

I must say I woul have liked te idea at one time.
Living your life over again and knowing what
you know now.
Most likely would be making mistakes again, just
not the same ones.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Yes it is difficult to believe that God gave His own son for us sinners.
He has done so willingly.
There is one passage where before he was crucified, Jesus was with the appostels. All of them were asleep.
Jesus knowing what would await him soon said to them.
Can you not stay with me even for one hour?
He even went through it all alone mentally.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Godsgift: No. The post said that God reads our dead brains like a computer disk and then judges us and I am asking what happens to those souls with unhealthy brains or the ones who have been wrongly programmed by sick parents.

I am sure that those people who are not competent will not be judged the same.
God is a just God. angel

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

"We are here NOT to be mothers..fathers and such..but to be tested"

Nope, you are very wrong!!!!!!
We are here to be mothers and fathers and kids and babies, and we are here to suffer and this the way in which we are being tested. Don't go the easy way because it leads to the death. Go the hard way so you could be tested and get stronger and find the truth of life and finally come to God.
Those who seek for comfort and easy life will find the death and deseases instead.[/quote

My answer to this;
How do we explain that where the Christians are totured, jailed, their homes burned etc. The people come to Christ more than anywhsre els.

I went back but can not find who wrote, that we are not here to be father's and mother's etc. It just was not me.
Of course we are!
Thus my answer to this person was; How do we explain etc.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

People have asked me; "What if you are wrong" If I am, I lost nothing.
If I am right, you stand to lose a lot.

I tell you this; Already on this planet He has changed my life, has done very special things for me.
Prayer answered.
So just those things have been very good.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Reincarnation as you understand it I believe is when you come back to this planet as someone or something else.

After I die on this earth, I will be with the Lord.
I will be having the same personallity, in a new body.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Living this life even when you live to be 120 is so very short.
It can't be all there is to it;
Eternity is so very long.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

I find it hard to believe that I am under sentence of death for eating cookies or apples, or for being the human that he created me as. Or that he would except as payment for our sins someone elses death.

You misunderstood what I meant was we are all going to die.
In that way we are all under a death sentence.
God gave the world, you, me, His son, who took upon himself the sins of all of us.

Read Isaian 53
it may make you understand of what this sacrific has really meant for all.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

You don't need to be going to church too become a believer.
The one thief crucified with Christ had never gone to church or was ever baptized.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Christians are not ever dying. They step out of their body like a snake shedding its skin.
They will start a new life on another plateau, and in a new body.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

It amazes me how many people believe God sits on a throne and writes down all what we do and say. It is like a Santa Clause to many.
He is spirit number one and second, our brain is like a computer.
On the day of judgement, your computer brain will unroll and show all.

When a person falls from a high place, they alwsys talk about how their whole life flashed by in a second. Same thing.

Heaven is boring many say. Angels playing the harp. Yes you are righ as I too would go nuts if I had to listen to it all day long
Heaven is not a place where we would be doing nothing.
God has a new plan for His children.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

I don't believe in religion as it means to believe in something.
It could be witch craft.
I believe in SOMEONE, not is something.
It has taken me 5 years of searching, as I was a hard nut to crack.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

1 Corinthians 6-13
Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them.

Just like there is no marriage in Heaven none of what you have known on earth you will remember.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

When Jesus was asked by the apostels when the end would come, He answered that no one knew this but that we should be looking for the sighns and we can see for it ourselves.

I have always been facinated by the profecies in the Bible.
The show you what time it is today.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

Wow..Holland..that is the best explaination I have ever heard on that subject..and will be taking note of it..

Thank you so much for that..it was excellent information.

Sometimes..we dont know how to verbalize some things..you have just done a wonderful job.!

We are human and will sin all the time, even if just in our mind.
Jesus went to the cross before I was even born and forgave us our sins, already then.
There is only ONE sin that can not be forgiven.
Rejecting the gift of a free pardon.
We can Not work for our salvation as many try to do.

We are all under the sentence of death.
See yourselve in jail. You are to die the next day.
The warden comes to your cell door and tells you that
there is someone who said that He would be willing to die in
your place.
Do you accept this free pardon or reject it.
That is the one and only sin that can not be forgiven.
It is called the unpardonable sin.

RE: IS THERE A GOD?

You are right I just looked it up. I should have said that I believe that only life excist on this planet.
