She's so lonely since my grandpa passed away and I don't like thinking of her alone or anything. Someone her age to walk with, drink wine with, I dunno'. Whatever else old people do.

I am not in any way relating this to your situation, but I really do wish my grandmother would find someone to love again too, not even LOVE, but someone to live with, be friends with, someone to come over more often and watch a movie with her or take a walk with her that she could hold hands with and turn to, someone her age... Instead of being so alone all the time in her home without someone.. She's such a cool woman. *sigh* I can't even imagine how it feels.
I have a little story that ties into this thread, I'd really appreciate it if all the men looking for love and recognition read this...
I was really heart broken after my boyfriend broke up with me and got with one of my best friends... It's taken me a long time to accept myself, love myself, or at least learn to and move on... And I remember trying to occupy my days while the wound was still fresh; going to school activities and what not... I once was on a nice little walk to a park near my area to watch a school baseball game. A young, handsome gentlemen was walking right at me down a sidewalk on the way there; as he came up to me he passed by and said 'hello', I said hello in return and kept walking, but I blushed a little... I was recognized by a total stranger, my age, very handsome; it made me feel like a million bucks right there and I had a smile on my face all the way to the game. Just being noticed means so much, it gives me that little bit more faith in men... that there might be good men out there. Sorry for rambling, it just feels good to talk about it sometimes~
Yeah you know what a MAJOR Kudos to who made this thread. It's extremely positive and it's something females and males alike need to hear and adhere to daily. People have to love themselves and expect better for themselves, never settle for being treated less than justly.

Everyone has their vices. For the longest time mine was writing, but as I've grown I've gotten into other things. But these things just stimulate my intellectual/artistic side moreso.

Life is an endless struggle, and I feel the utmost of sympathies for you and your situation. You seem like a lovely gentlemen, but you should take into consideration the simple fact that Internet dating is a lot like IRL (In Real Life) dating. It's still two REAL people, with REAL feelings, separated from one another until they can break down those barriers and actually get out and meet each other. I constantly feel the same way you do about the peculiar specimen that is the male gender. My long-term boyfriend recently broke up with me and is now dating my best friend.
