I'm just getting over a block, it was there, because it didn't want to share what was in my heart with anyone, because all it sounded like was a lot of screaming. On a normal day? (when was the last time i had one of those :-) and blocks appear, i'd either start working on something else, a new riff or rhythm, or 'I Take it into the Forge'
and i batter it out again and again and again and where i have no words i just make emotional noises, on the tenth time round (or hundred and tenth - my neighbours loved me) those noises would start forming into words, my brain would start making decisions for me and guessing what the word is and this very often takes the song in a new direction.
I don't know if you can apply that to prose, to re-read it all and hold the story in your head last thing at night, fall asleep with it and wake up in the morning and re-read it again next to the keyboard and see if as you finish what was written if your subconscious knows where the story is going.
Do you find after the block clears that the reason it formed was because you had turned a wrong corner and the story couldn't conclude, again in the dream time, your subconscious will edit out the wrong turn and take it to conclusion.
People tend to tense up when a block appears but it will only clear with relaxation. The story, be it a three minute wonder or War and Peace is in your head, in its entirety already. If you didn't know how it was going to end you wouldn't have started it, so it's all about letting it out.
And lastly i had a mate in Edinburgh who now calls himself a novelist and he would write in parallel he would/does story board the novel and work on different chapters and characterisations depending on his mood, rather than trying to match his mood to the point in the chapter he had reached, he would reach for a piece of the narrative that matched his current mood.
this did make it difficult for his editor, but hey produced good results.
Jesus can i bang on!!!!!!
but you take it away to the stove and reduce it and it turns into things like this.
(To get the middle section you would need to be watching mobile phone adverts in 2001 when i wrote it).
And done with all the sweaty stuff, We're crashed back down and curling up. Riding wild emotions, On natures favourite high. She smiles cuddles up and sighs, My 'Funnybones', my mermaid bride. And slips beneath the waves of sleep.
Meanwhile on the telly, Techyman is very cold, Lonely at the pole, Collates theodolite advice. Then screen left his wife arrives, She's walked a thousand miles tonight, A kiss to leave, A cheek to warm night night.
So goodnight my love, Slip away into yourself, Dream channel open, I'll rush to catch that ride. But just for one moment, Let me hold your still soft breathing, And I'll follow then you too, The other side.
Here is a question, Israel as a state has never defended peace at it's own expense (seriously i can fill about 35,000 words on that one - As a state whenever Israel has gone to war since 1946 it has never settled a peace that resulted in a withdrawal from lands that Israel considered their's before the war started. - so to defend peace but not at the expense of Israel is a bit of an oxymoron. No?
when one considers the behavior of the 'illegal' settlers sanctioned and funded by the state of Israel, your statement i defend peace, but not at the expense of Israel suggests that whatever illegal act The State of Israel makes is OK.
So to clarify, do you defend the shootings of Palestinian kids by 'Illegal' jewish settlers in Palestinian teritories, or Do you NOT?
there are several borders in this argument and I am trying to clarify your's.
For the record my border in this argument is with Gush Shalom and the 1967 green line. Where is yours?
If anyone can deliver peace in the Levant, these people can, which is why they never get name checked.
They need YOUR support They need YOUR financial aid, They need YOU to big them up in your local media.
PLEASE DO

I met them at the Big Green Gathering three years ago, they are an inspiration
I'm not a big fan of Soialist Worker's rants however what is written above rings very true with the documentary that was made at the 2000 Camp David negociations with Clinton, Arafat and Ehud Barak.
They very nearly have an accord, however at at the last minute we have footage of Arafat almost in tears saying "They are trying to get me to give up soverignty of the Dome of the Rock if i do that i will be assassinated".
This man did not fear for his life, if he was assassinated, any deal he made would be worthless, but in his words are the unspoken underlying causes of this conflict.
We have a lot of history about palestine during the development of Islam, people in the region could write and they did. Herod's Temple was in ruins and the temple based religion that gave the Levites a free life, living off the backs of the other 11 tribes of Israel was over, having given way to Rabbinical Judaism where any Jewish man could study and become a Rabbi, where as a Rabbi he was expected to support himself, unless his community decided of their own accord to support him in any way they saw/see fit.
Palestine as an area was no longer a very pleasant place to live central government had collapsed there was no rule of Law and within that, a young man, led by 'the spirit of the oneness that binds all life' decided one day to sit on the ruins of the holy of holies, of the temple and meditate, he found himself doing this for some time as in weeks or months and during that period he 'recieved' words which collectivly bound in a book are now refered to as 'The Koran.'
The Zionist Goal is the re-establishment of the State of Israel and the Temple of The Lord, this goal cannot be achieved whilst the Dome of the Rock still stands.......................
The destruction of the Mosque built on the place where Mohammed recieved the Koran will result in carnage.
If Iran has nuclear capacity they would at that point use it. If Iran goes nuclear positive it is the end of the Zionist dream
All the world's a conspiracy, And all the men and women merely conspirators :-)
The You just make things fit your troubled mind, is very neat, and can't be argued against without months of placing the documents in front of you and you reading them, which you don't want to do, so no matter where we go from here that is your line.
But understand many nations don't wear Fox blinkers and it is that reality that you meet when you travel physically or virtually, so bless you and good luck with your oil mad economy.
No the meetings have been documented and our governments continue to fess up to the operations generally about 25 years after the fact
Bay of Tonkin anyone.
It is all documented and is available if you can be bothered to dig it up.
Do you remember the anthrax attacks blamed on Al Qaeda or Iraq, remember the impassioned speech by Colin Powell at the UN how he held up a little bottle of the stuff and explained
Second, when Iraq finally admitted having these weapons in 1995, the quantities were vast. Less than a teaspoon of dry anthrax, a little bit about this amount -- this is just about the amount of a teaspoon -- less than a teaspoon full of dry anthrax in an envelope shutdown the United States Senate in the fall of 2001. This forced several hundred people to undergo emergency medical treatment and killed two postal workers just from an amount just about this quantity that was inside of an envelope.
. It now after the fact turns out to be the work of a US citizen, a lone "Unabomber" who commits suicide before he can be cross examined in a public court
Are you suggesting that the US/UK governments do not lie do not engage with black flag operations and have not sought, to control and secure energy supplies?
Maybe we could express this in a different way, Do you think the people of the USA or Britain will ever take responsibility for the actions of their democratically elected governments, who lets face it under the Bush B'liar coalition, have committed war crimes at least equivalent to those of Mr Karadzic and other indicted Serb war criminals. Or do you think that our nations have the right to invade all and everyone we desire, especially those whose national boundaries contain minerals we like
I will quote this American penned article from somewhere in the middle, the whole piece is worth reading.
Lifted from The Surreal Politics of Premeditated War by R.W. Behan
In his second week in office, President Bush appointed Vice President Cheney to chair a National Energy Policy Development Group. The supersecret “Energy Task Force,” as it came to known, was composed of officials from the relevant federal agencies and beyond question heavily attended by energy industry executives and lobbyists. (The full membership has yet to be revealed, but Enron’s Kenneth Lay was conspicuously present.)
One brute fact had to be apparent to the Task Force: in the Caspian Basin, and beneath the Iraqi deserts there are 125 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, and the potential for 433 billion barrels more. Anyone controlling that much oil could break OPEC’s stranglehold overnight.
By early March, 2001, the Task Force was poring over maps of the Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, tanker terminals, and oil exploration blocks. It studied an inventory of “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts”—dozens of oil companies from 30 different countries, in various stages of exploring and developing Iraqi crude. (These documents were forced into view several years later by a citizen group, Judicial Watch, with a Freedom of Information Act proceeding. It wasn’t easy—the Bush Administration appealed the lawsuit all the way to the Supreme Court—but the maps and documents can now be seen and downloaded at :
Not a single U.S. oil company, however, was among the “suitors,” and that was intolerable. Mr. Cheney’s task force concluded, “By any estimation, Middle East oil producers will remain central to world security. The Gulf will be a primary focus of U.S. international energy policy.”
It has become very clear over the past six years that the majority of our two nations do not want to know this and will if ever questioned about it immediately lash out with abusive denials and remarksI have yet to engage with a US or UK citizen who could debate the Bush Bliarite position using corroborated facts.
However the rest of the world has no such loyalty to our criminal leaders and maybe - as Mr Bush (the man who invented Extraordinary Rendition and condoned the use of torture) lectures China on its human rights record, - now is the time for us to listen to their words rather than shooting off our mouths, guns and tomahawk missiles at the first sight of criticism.
I only just found it, some of the Buddahfield festival crew live in Totnes and started talking about it. it wasn't till i got home that i discovered how organised they were, it's fantastic
