I'm with you on that..It's more what parents do with with their kids..the time spent listening to them, playing with them, than worrying about if they have the latest PS3 game or Xbox. Money shouldn't be an issue.
I have nothing against french people (apart from the enemy). I have been living here in France for the best part of 15yrs. And I have lots of very good French friends. Not forgetting my kids who have been born and reared here..
All i'm doing is giving you my experience from the opposite end off where you are..I'm an Irish guy living in france..so i know a bit about French humour and logic and all i'm saying is sometimes things get lost in translation.
Once again, french male logic doesn't work on UK women. I know this because the reverse is impossible..I will for your benefit requote myself (I don't do this as a rule)
Where do you want me to start...I post on the UK forums...And I find that both the UK and Irish forum posters (FM i'm Irish)..in the most part are like the Islands of Ireland and Britian insular....
INSULAR –adjective 1. of or pertaining to an island or islands: insular possessions. 2. dwelling or situated on an island. 3. forming an island: insular rocks. 4. detached; standing alone; isolated. 5. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of islanders. 6. narrow-minded or illiberal; provincial: insular attitudes toward foreigners. 7. Pathology. occurring in or characterized by one or more isolated spots, patches, or the like. 8. Anatomy. pertaining to an island of cells or tissue, as the islets of Langerhans.
–noun 9. an inhabitant of an island; islander.
As for talking sense. May i remind yourself that several times you have had to back track on what you posted about certain men contacting you...Also on the UK, I have found out that certain people PM in private and make snide remarks and make ill informed opinions about people with out knowing anything about the person..I'm speaking from experience..
People who post here on the EU don't take life as serious. And are always very quick to see the upside of things.
Piece of advice....
1..Crank up your juke box 2..Open up a bottle of plonk 3..Chill out
Another cost about kids...this only applies to divorces and separations..is the up keep of your ex...
I've just finished a meeting with the CAF*..and the enemy asked for an extra 300 euro a month. And they were about to take it directly from my back account..To cut a long story short the enemy gets nothing extra and for the first time in years the french are behind me...I've no problem in paying for my monsters but not for the enemy to keep up with the Jones or the Duponts..She lost that right years ago..
Now our little boy came up to his mom In the kitchen this evenin' while she was fixin' supper And he handed her a piece of paper he'd been writin' on And after wipin' her hands on her apron She read it, and this is what it said.
For mowin' the lawn, five dollars For makin' my own bed this week, one dollar And for goin' to the store, fifty cents An' playin' with little brother while you went shoppin', twenty-five cents.
Takin' out the trash, one dollar Gettin' a good report card, five dollars And for rakin' the yard, two dollars Total owed, fourteen seventy-five.
Well, as mom looked at him standin' there expectantly And I could see the mem'ries flashing through her mind And so she picked up the pen, and turnin' the paper over This is what she wrote.
For the nine months I carried you growin' inside me, no charge For the nights I've sat up with you Doctored you, and prayed for you, no charge For the time and the tears That you've cost through the years, there's no charge And when you add it all up The full cost of my love is no charge.
For the nights filled with dread And all the worries ahead, no charge For advice and the knowledge And the cost of your college, no charge For the toys, food and clothes and even for wipin' your nose There's no charge, son And when you add it all up The full cost of my love is, no charge.
Well, when he finished readin' He had great big old tears in his eyes And he looked up at her standing there and said Mama, I sure do love you Then he took the pen, And in great big letters He wrote PAID IN FULL.
Lord knows when you add it all up The cost of real love is, no charge...
Euro or sterling...There's no real difference today.
Nappies..for the first few months the baby needs changing 6/8 times a day 20/30 euro a packet. Means in the first few months you spend 80/100 on euro a month on them..Then you add on the creams, wipes..Baby milk is 10 euro a box.(on average 1 a week)...
Kids shoes are almost the same price a adults. Kids feet grow very fast...Clothes are the same.. School uniforms..christmas prezzies, birthday prezzies and the odd treat in between.. Then you have hoildays..You cant live in a 21/2 bed room place..For example you have 2 kids..a boy and a girl.At some stage of the game they will need their own rooms...
..Borrowing 20/30 euro here and there and you know you aint getting it back...
Uni is no longer free...grants stopped long ago
Today with the cost of living you are not getting much change out of 100,000 euro, sterling or dollars...
In a nutshell yes..I don't want strangers 'poking' their noses in to my things...My family(not the same) can come here and stay as long as they want with out me around but a complete stranger..Also you can rent appts./self catering for a reasonable price so you are tied to the hotel eating hours...
Ok so the company puts in safe gaurds and insurance covers the damage(if any) to much worry and your always thinking what are they getting up to...Maybe for the 2/3wks they use your place for a scam/fraud or even end up squatting...to much hassle.
When i go on hols. i close my door and stop my mail..and forget the place..When i return all there should be is some dust..Not finding someones lost sock in the washing machien or hair in the shower plug..
RE: What do kids cost?
I'm with you on that..It's more what parents do with with their kids..the time spent listening to them, playing with them, than worrying about if they have the latest PS3 game or Xbox. Money shouldn't be an issue.
